Hey,

I'm Lisa, from Christchurch.

I'm currently participating in a 20 week body transformation challenge at my gym. I'm already very active but carrying bout an extra 5kg so looking to very lean by the end of it as aposed to losing masses of weight. I have a trainer and are going cardio 5 mornings a week with at least 4 days of weights mixed with a low GI diet free of rice, bread, pasta etc. Has anyone out there been down this road before? It's only week 2 and going well in a physical and mental sense however I know there is a LONG way to go.

Keen to hear from people as support from people in the know is always handy or even people in Christchurch that might be keen to keep contact? I've just moved from my old gym to anytime fitness and its going real well!

Cheers

Sounds like a good start!!

I've currently put myself on a 20week plan to get the fat down too. Looks like a busy exersice schedule. Hope your not going to burn out with level of activity.

I've started my very slowly, with just a focus on diet and weigth training to being with then I will slowly blend in cardio as the fatloss slows. I hope this keeps me interested and avoid creating that shock or crash people get from trying to do too much to fast. Patience young grasshopper

try keep posting your progress on here!!! will help keep you motivated

Thanks for the reply :) Yea it's a busy work load but outside of work I have no life so it's not usually a case of needing to find time, and I really enjoy so MOST of the time it's not a chore (We all have our lazy days where we don't want to go anywhere!)

Trainer took before photos (the challenge is technically a competition) so looking forward to being able to take some more flattering after ones at the end!

good one, i think the best thing you've done is taken on a challenge with a specific goal and deadline on it. when times get tough, just remember this is the path you wanted to go on and recall your reasons whatever it may be. it's good if there are other people in the challenge because then if you have a bit of a competitive spirit going on you can somehow find the energy to go the extra mile.

Keep with it! I Managed to lose over 20kg in a 12 week challenge last year, it has its moments, but seeing results each week just makes you more determained..I used fruit for sugar cravings and it seemed to work most times..Good luck!

If I lost 20kg there wouldn't be much left of me haha. But that's a great effort on your part. I've had a horrid cold this week which has really challenged me physically and mentally but I've managed to still so what I need to do so I'm happy about that :) I appreciate everyone's messages. It's nice talking to people who understand because some people say I don't need to go to the gym etc because I'm not overweight! So uneducated...

I didnt think I had 20kg to lose either! And everyone said I wasnt fat to start with, but its a matter of being proud of your body! The winter colds never help ! Stick with it tho, the highs from acheiving your goals outweigh all the lows in the long run!
