See and physio and/or take anti inflammatorys.

The strain would have been caused by lack of flexibility so might be best to work on some mobility (stretch and warm-up sufficiently).

I spend about 20-30 minutes warming up for training's now as injuries and so time consuming.

thanks man, yea i just brought some deep relief gel, see how that works, my triceps are no longer in pain just my chest and upper abs, i was doing the same workout before as they say if you do an new workout that you are not used too, you can get sore muscles.... but i didn't listen to my body it was sore but i just continued till fail.. so i guess its my fault never again

thanks again

what do you mean when you say strain? do you mean an actual injury or just muscle soreness? if it's a real injury (feels way out of normal soreness, sharp pains etc.) best see a professional and don't try stretch yourself etc. if it's just some soreness (from trying new things/new ways of doing things) then best thing you can do is get back in the gym and do it again, taking time off is just counter productive when it comes to fighting DOMS

at first it was really sharp pains, just under the ribs it always happens when i do my ab workouts i get the upper abs pain, pain not is not as bad after deep heat stuff on it...

i think it was something i pulled, i was doing pulls up and doing abs crunches at the same time
