Low free testosterone at 20

Recommended Posts

Hi

So i'm 20years old, at University and have had very low free testosterone for awhile and am finding it incredible hard to put on any considerable amount of muscle, have no sex drive, basically infertile. I study human nutrition and physiology and have been contemplating what to do about it for awhile. I have been to an Endocrinologist who tested total testosterone(not free) and found it was normal so sent me on my way (was referred through public by doc). I have now moved University and asked for my free testo to be checked, which came back very low (3ml/L.... normal range=10-12ml/L) at 20! He is going to refer me to another endocrinologist but this could take months. I just want to feel normal again and was wondering if you guys think trying a low dose steroid etc would help? I don't know what to do anymore and feel depressed about the whole situation.

Thanks for any advise in advance.

Body comp is around 87kg, 6ft 3ish, probably 10-12% bodyfat. I train around 5 times a week (rest days change depending on how i feel), been switching routines a bit but mostly push/pull/legs or back/shoulders, chest, legs, arms, core. I don't have a huge problem losing weight but maintaining muscle/adding seem to be unnaturally hard for someone my age. Diet is consistently around 300-400cals above maintenance.

IF you're looking to increase your test levels to and not looking to take any other AAS, you might want to consider a trans-dermal testosterone application.

The gel can be applied once daily and is much more discrete, travel friendly especially if you have room mates or family around.

Being 20 yo with low T and having a hard time building muscle is not ideal as i'm sure you can imagine, however i'm not a naive kid who wants to get jacked.

I would like to return my body to normality, perhaps with some added muscle building benefits given testosterone is not a short term fix. So that being said, what would you guys suggest i do?

Is it worth seeing an Endocrine privately and how likely is it they will prescribe me something that will help low sex drive, muscle synthesis, and the list of other side-effects?

Hey yeelang. I think you forgot to put the prices next to all those compounds in your signature. Cheers, IDW

Without hijacking this thread away from the topic, I have PM'd Pseudonym regarding my signature asking if he would like it changed.

I don't have any trans-dermal test and I haven't used a trans-dermal test solution gel (nor is it in my signature, with respect to your post) I do however have friends and family who have used it with great success for therapeutic and anti-aging purposes.

I'm keen to debate why this is a bad suggestion given his stats, circumstances and goals. It is a rarer delivery mechanism and I'm not sure on availability, I haven't seen a lot of supply in the North Island (which might explain some of the above posting) but I personally believe it's the best option.

It is commonly prescribed by Endocrinologists?

In my previous experience with the general public sector specialists (also been to a urologist for urinary incontinence, don't ask) are quick to diagnosis their patients, which can in some rarer cases lead to incorrect diagnosis/treatments given.

Also can it be subsidized for medical use?

Dude why dnt u go see a medical professional who specialises in this. The fact that your asking if you should see one means you should see one lol.

Ppl on here only want to sell u gear to benefit themselves.

If u have a legitimate endocrine problem then go thru legitimate channels.

By all means take PED advice and illegal steroid use advice from a forum but I wouldn't use a bbing forum to look for medical advice. Some ppl will take offence to that. But true medical professionals don't answer questions or make suggestions about this sort of thing on websites like this, so what your potentially getting is second-rate advice.

Everyone on here knows better than a doctor it seems lol.

If going on TRT don't over look the orals.. Good thing is they don't shut you down like injecting... I have been taking them long term and I feel like a million dollars on them..
