Where does nate fit into the equation?

Didn't want to get down to the bottom 50 physique men! :pfft:

Seriously bro, I'd be happy to be somewhere amongst the next tier down along with guys like yourself, Kristian, Geordie, Yoram, James, Matt, etc and those I know less about from NZIFBB.

Lets duel bibby

You gotta get past Gymrat first....you and James!

Honoured to be mentioned  we will see if I jump up on stage again this year, although after an extended break my fire is being ignited again..

Nabba wff overall - Steve Orton

Nabba NAC - Dianabol

IFBB - Kenny Omalley? Nathan O'Hearn? Android?

Other names to throw in the hat are Kagan, Alex, Mark, Marven, Darren, Nelly and Mateo

Garth and Byron have both publicly said they will be taking the year off

Moe doesn't compete anymore. Justin and Darryn O are both pro's so not really fair to compare them with the rest of the competitors.

We can't forget Grant in all of this. You receive an immediate 2 year ban for competing in another federation so assuming his Ifbb pro card was revoked last year for competing at the Nabba WFF pan Pacifics he no longer has a pro card and is free to compete again as an amateur. It's possible you will see him up against Steve at the nationals and I'm telling you guys first hand he's looking pretty good. Still got the great taper but bigger all over and brought his legs up. Can you imagine a lineup with Grant, Steve, Kagan, Alex, Darren and Mark!

Gonna be a good year :)

I know no one really competes in NABBA NAC anymore however I think I'll be lucky just to even take out my class or place.

SG, if you could really dial in your freaky legs you would easily be one of the top contenders for the IFBB / NABBAWFF title.

There is one other very good local NAC amateur coming back from a couple of years away too who easily fits in this conversation and is looking on the money. Won't name them if they haven't outed themselves as competing.

Adam, you have to give yourself more credit, while we've only seen one pic, you have not only the size and condition, but from what I can see, you carry asthetics too and that can't be bought for love or money.

Sam's one I hadn't thought of but definitely one to watch!

I haven't seen him compete since he won the show.... until the relatively unknown Aldene Brown rolled out of Hawkes Bay and stunned the crowd!

Wonder how many other relatively unknown super freaks are out there and if any will turn up this year (like Andre did years ago at nearly 120 on stage! ).

Have to say something about mark a apart from being a freak he is a true gentlmen he went out of his way at the nelson show couple of years ago to help me out with a stupid tanning problem i had even though he was busy getting the nelson show ready. If thats not a good reason for competing for the nabba-wff i dont know what is.

That was my first show Nate and Sam looked amazing, wicked legs for such a young guy, cool posing to the Contender Theme. Most shows his physique would have cleaned up then Aldene came along with his wife and the both won the overalls.

Aldenes back was probably still the best back I have ever seen on a Kiwi, massively thick, apparently one very strong dude as well.

Was one of those shows where back stage everyone was giving the guy a wide berth as he was just so massive.

Rachael Chase and Mr Naturals first show I think too?

I love how the sport has really come alive in the last 3-4 years. Even with the number of feds it seems like more and more new faces coming on board and great to see a lot of old faces. You can pretty much pick any fed now and you are going to see a very compelling line up for overalls and some solid classes.

Interestingly two of our pros made the same comment to me about this thread. Both said when it came to amateurs there were really only two names at present - Mark Anderson and Steve Orton. No one else was really seen as beating these two, however both acknowledge that the standard and depth has come up recently (maybe similar to the 90's? My words not theirs).

Another guy to watch for would have to be Bobsta if he gets the trunks on again this year. Definitely a contender for overall nabba nac title if he competes there again.

I just don't get why anyone would (whos at the top level) compete in NAC. Dianabol looks great but why compete for NAC no one will stand next to him its a waste. I know a guy who i competed against at nationals who got 6th in our class just made the NAC New Zealand team.

I think Kagan has not been thrown in the mix as people base their opinion on his last show. So so much bigger, almost as big as Steve, bigger structure and better shape. Look out Mark.

With the NZIFBB no longer drug testing....Why does anybody compete in NABBA?

Isnt IFBB the only Federation that leads anywhere?

Whats the advantage of competing in NABBA now?

Sure if you wanna go Pro you do NZIFBB. Also if you want to do Arnold Amatuers or IFBB Amatuer Worlds.

If you want to do decent International comps NABBA-WFF is also a good option. The Mr Universe (yeah the same comp won by all the greats) can only be accessed via NABBA-WFF, as can NABBA Worlds. The WFF divisions seem popular internationally too though I know less about these. The amount of funding to do international comps is far superior in NABBA-WFF at present if you're a serious contender. Rumour (and thats all it is from me as I haven't heard anything official) is that they will send up to 10 athletes to Southern Hemispheres in Aussie after the Christchurch Grand Prix!

NABBA-NAC basically have a weak international link so unless you want to compete against the Phillipeans I'd pass. However as Tom said if you're not looking that far ahead you can do good local shows with them (tho from a physique perspective 2012-2013 has been a bit shit, however figure/athletic standard have been pretty good).

INBA - if you're natty this is probably for you.

Hope that helps big fella.

Pro cards are a joke from what we have seen.

Nabba/wff provides the opportunity to compete at worlds and at universe

One show format, better quality competitors

You don't have to give moe a gobby.
