I have heard Steve is peaking for the worlds and won't be doing the nationals this year and similarly Kenny is aiming for the Tahiti show then having a break won't be doing nationals.

Plans always change though...

Yup re: Steve so heres my picks....

Steve Orton over Jake Nikopoulis if they meet at Southern Hemispheres and places top 5 at Worlds.

Kagan / Mark Anderson in overalls at Nationals, giving this to Mark this year (but not for many more the way the Ortons are growing! ). Kagan top 3 at Junior Universe, hopefully see him retain his title.

NZIFBB - Garth, Kenny out? If Nate O competes he wins, if not I see Andy Priestly, Android etc in contention. Could be wide open this year - exciting.

NAC - I'd see Adam & Bobby right up there barring any wildcards.

Will have a better idea later in the year but thats my early predictions.

Darryl Tomuli just won his nabba (wff) comp in aussie. For those who don't know him he is a former Mr NZ (nzfbb) & brother of Sesa who still competes here.

He's likely to be up against Steve Orton & Jake Nikopoulis at thhe Southern Hemispheres in June - hopefully he also calls in home for a show or two?!

Haha you're too kind for mentioning me Nate, I apreciate it but definitly wont be me. Im not even sure if I've made any improvments since my last show to be honest.

With NABBA NAC the quality has gotten a hell of a lot better amongst the competitors this year and everyone seems to be growing!! Most have 10kg's on me at least.

Mateo is a great athlete in my eyes and is looking a lot bigger than I ever remember too and his conditioning is always good. There's also young guys like Denvor coming through who I think is competing this Sat and is over a 100kg shredded with crazy legs.

Its going to be an awesome year for all feds I think

Big weekend coming with Nabba Chch Grand Prix and Nac Aucklands - an early indication of the standard for 2013.

Saw the infamous Jimjim the other day looking diced and still full sub 30kg of his offseason weight. Also heard a 107kg junior will be on stage this sat down south.

Alex Simays is onstage along with Richard and Annette. Quality gonna be good!

And then theres Lisa Bailey. ..not sure what to say other than I'm glad I'm not in her class, I think she'd out mass me! Looking freaky at this early stage of the year!

Quality gonna be good!

It's a real shame that we didn't get Jake Nikolopolous turning up as planned, I was really looking forward to seeing him this year, from the crowd this time as opposed to standing next to him on stage

But it looks like we will get a great showdown at the southerns with Jake taking on Steve Orton and probably Darrel Tomuli as well as one of the many masters who always give the younger guys a good run. Wish I had tickets to that show too, Nate can you hook me up a cheap flight

Nonetheless the chch show is still looking very promising, prob a few awesome physiques we don't know about will turn up on the day too. See you there :)
