Good Auckland Physios

Lurker, First time poster. I searched past posts. The similar thread was a year old so Id thought Id check again. A good physio in Avondale was recommended on there but he moved far away.

Looking for a good Auckland Physio. Could you please make some recommendations? Thanks. I'm in West Auckland.

Current Situation:

After 3 years of consistent Gyming (with bad form for 2 out of 3 years) I ended up with this situation. I miss working out and playing sport a lot. I am 21 years old and 60kgs (dropped down from 73kgs due to not working out)

I have got a fucked up body atm. Had to stop proper training for a year and have just been going to the gym 4x week doing light rehab. Yes I am currently seeing a doctor (Waiting for bloods).

I hurt my front delts for which I went to a physio for, turned out to be long head bicep tendinitis. So I stayed away from the weights (other than the pink dumbells) and started running quite a bit (2-3km's, 3xWeek, not extensively, ramped it up as well) and then apparently hurt both of my knees a month later. During this time both my elbows also started to get inflamed and hurt, the physio said this was possibly due to overcompensation from rehab stuff I was doing for my shoulder (I was doing a lot of rehab stuff for the shoulder from the physio, MobilityWOD and some of eric cresseys stuff; it hurt just to bend it and brushing my teeth and holding a cup were painful). The elbows and knees are a lot better than when they first started hurting but still hurt a bit to do some everyday tasks (openning doors and climbing stairs)

Due to the knees hurting I avoided walking as much as possible thinking this would heal them faster (Because they hurt to walk on but were not dibilitating. This was probally a mistake). They knees got better after a few weeks (4-6) so I didn't tell my physio and I started walking to work (2-3 kms; sedentary computer job) then Bam! Developed some pain in my heels. Went to a podiatrist for that and he found nothing mechanically wrong with my feet, but a lot of painful cracking with the knees when he did some tests. He though that I damaged some cartilage in my knees and hurt the insertion of the Achilles tendon (From running and walking WTF!). A few weeks after this I started to get Hips and Lower back pain. My Hips make an audible click when I stand up. Now Im thinking this is more something more that just a mechanical problem.

First time written about this. Puts it into perspective. I snapped some of my shit up. My current physio has been really helpful however is moving somewhere that I cannot get to.

I think that some sort exercise even if I've got something wrong with me will help in the long run. Ive tried resting completly from the gym and rehab and it dosent help and Ive also researched and tried the stuff (improving Anterior pelvic tilt, kyphosis etc.) recomended by eric cressey, mike robertson and MobilityWOD (this helps but im having trouble doing the exercises due to other hurting joints). Im just looking to use the physio as a guide and to help select exercises that correct any mechanical problems that I may have and not hurting my self in the process.

Thanks for reading. Any help and guidance is appreciated. I wanna lift again haha. Hopefully things turn out ok.

Cliffs:

- Snapped up Joints all over body

- Need A physio to help exercise without snapping my joints more

Welcome bro. Wow, sounds like you're falling apart! :P

But it also sounds like you're well-researched and motivated, so I'm sure that you'll a) find out what you need to do to solve these problems, and b) do it.

I see you've already found Justin's reference in another topic... I can recommend him. Tell him we sent you.

Dean Rhodes -BodyZone Physiotherapy- has been a top level competitor and knows his stuff!

The only guy I will see, I travel a big distance to see him when needed as I don't want to be messed around.

Thanks for that. I'll look into it and may go if I cant get an appointment with Justin. Thanks again guys!

I wouldn't have thought you needed to go too far to see Dean, Dean.

Seriously though, you're welcome to reply to Terman8trs question directly. You don't need to pretend to be someone else. I'm sure there are benefits in having a physio who has also competed.

Quick Update: I am seeing Justin atm. Had had my first session last week. Happy so far. He was thorough and glad he mentioned that if it doesn't get better after a few months (god forbid) he'll refer me to a specialist or something. Im gonna try hard to correct all my shit through exercise and diet as much as possible. Thanks guys.
