Do you eat preworkout?

Hey all,

I have always eaten a bowl of oats youghurt & have a protein shake about 1 hour before training.

Also i have sum sort of booster too.(superpump,demon shot).

Purchased a new pretrainer today (HyperFX),

Directions say consume 30-45mins before training on an empty stomic for best results.

I will try this tonight before going to the gym.

I have always eaten before gym for fuel and to get a better weight on the scales,but im on a cutting phase for a few more weeks at the moment,so i can see how this stuff goes on an empty stomic.

Im keen to see if most people eat or not before training.

2-3 hours before I workout... I don't eat anything. For me it's easier to train if my guts arent slushing around... and it allows me to drink heaps without getting any acid reflux. Much better training fully hydrated than full of food. As long as you've still got some food somewhere in your guts giving you some energy and your glycogen reserves are topped up I reckon you've got a recipe for a good workout.

When I train mornings, I never eat beforehand and I still have good workouts then... but I'm usually cutting then and not really expecting to break any records with my lifts.

Intersting stuff for me, because iv always eaten 1 hr before gym.

And it will make pretraining alot easier now, if im not mucking round makin oats & waiting for them to cool down,and eating them. :nod:

Who has time for cooling down bro?

Making 1.5 cups of oats I microwave it for about 55secs, mix and microwave again for about 45secs. Mix again and ready to eat. It's more heated than cooked perhaps but no mucking around.

Or

Cook it fully then dump a can of fruit salad on top. Not so hot now.

Hey there Kalidane,

Sounds like your oats are uncooked man :puke: ,each to their own though.

Its more about the timing to get them in,If ya running late etc....

Just a pain in the ass haha.

then have a protein shake 300ml or so then a superpump,another 200 or so mls and having to meet a mate at the gym with an over full belly.

Iv been doing this forever and it doesnt get any easier. :roll:

Anyway i tried training arms tonight on an empty stomic,and found it wasnt so bad after all,after having 1 scoop of HyperFX,i got that tingly feeling,and felt more energized than normal.

I did feel hungry though towards the end of my workout,I think no food is a bit of a shock to the system.

All and all it was a good session, and il keep doing this until i start my next bulking cycle, (only a couple of weeks away).

You don't expect to take your car for a drive with no gas in the tank, do you?

Everyone's different so find what works best for you.

Also feeling more energised could just be from taking a new per-workout supplement for the first time.

Prefer to workout on empty stomach as well. Usually train first thing in the morning anyway on just bcaas (and a pre-workout if required) and its all good.

Btw, HyperFX is great stuff and probably my favourite preworkout. Just be careful not to shake it up when mixing - best stirred!

gonna try hyper fx ,some little shits in my gym stole my pre woorkout,can you beleive it! Faggots!!

I agree 100% Rxx, i think that ya need the food (fuel) to grow muscle,and thats how iv been training for a long time,

The only reason i tried training on empty, was because of HyperFX directions.

At the moment im at my leanest that iv been, so i feel i can train on an empty stomic for a few weeks to maybe get even leaner before my up & coming bulking cycle that i will keep my eating clean for once.

Still, its good to hear other peoples ways, and thoughts on this topic.

I have some simple carbs before I train like raison's or a apple.When I was in Wellys for the sevens I bought what ever fruit that felt like having before I trained ie apple or banana plus having a long black or big mother drink any of those are good for pre train plus there good.

I make sure i am in bed by 9pm before training in mornings sometimes i will have the shake at 4 then go back to bed for another hours sleep you do that for long enough the body adapts and then it becomes normal i havn,t done weights in the afternoon now for a couple of years does not fit in with my lifestyle
