I have never been to Waimate and no nothing about the placee. But do stop in at one of the big second hand shops there.

There is an old fart there who is/has been fundrasing for the world masters? Maybe a bench comp. He lives and breaths weightlifting, has a big squat rack and bench in his shop with medals and certificates.

Again never been to Waimate and I dont know this guy but he seemed very passionate about lifting and was/is a competitive masters lifter.(mayb just bench?) He was good to talk to.

Again advise not to drink the water, although I have never been, just a rumour it makes you a little funny.....
