Chinese lifting school

china on another level

...with everything they do.

yeah they really breed champions over there. remember seeing some vid about the female lifters before too (i think someone posted it on this forum?). they lift so much from such a young age, incredible stuff they really don't play around over there. strong coaching, strong work ethic. unfortunately the kids probably get forced in to it by parents but that is entirely another topic for another forum..

they arent forced into it. the chinese govt scouts out potential athletes from a young age who have the best potential genes, farm boys for instance, and asks the parents and the kid if they want to participate in the athletes program. if they say yes then its a potential ticket out of poverty which makes it that much more important for them to succeed in their sport. nothing is forced, even the drugs. the atheletes usually come to terms with drugs as a tool to help them stay competitive.

i read this while researching upon olympic weightlifting in china, bulgaria and russia.

+1

Mostly poor children from the countryside, started early, only chance to get out of poverty.

Will make or break them, many return back to the farm with injuries, hurt egos etc but from that rise the stars

Cool vid - would be awesome to train in that environment and get coaching by the top Chinese coaches.

Will be in China in June, have been invited to visit the Guangzhou school for Special Olympic weight lifters. Will video it if I do attend.

They pick these kids out from the countryside that show raw talent then send them to local lifting schools. Those that excel locally end up in the place I've been invited to, these guys will represent China if they are good enough.

just hope I can out-lift the disabled :pfft:
