strength & weight ratio

hi guys

what do you guys think a good lift for your weight ratio would be for the 3 main compounds; squat, bench & deadlift.

does it vary depending on your weight? im currently 112 - 115kgs.

realistically do you think i can achieve these this year;

squat: 1.6x > 2x

bench: 1.2x > 1.5

deadlift: 1.9x > 2.5x

Lift to weight ratios are irrelevant between weight grades in my opinion. I'm ten times more impressed by a 150kg guy squatting 375kg than a 70kg guy squatting 245kg even though the 70kg guy is squatting 3.5 times his bodyweight versus the big guy squatting 2.5 times his Bodyweight.

The increases you put forward would be impressive gains in 1 year but not impossible.

Assuming you were still 115kg your lifts would be 230/172.5/287.5 for a 690 total which would be very competitive :nod:

i lost 5kgs of fat in 12 days and lost 20kgs on my squat.

thats an extreme situation because extremely rapid fat loss is known to cause as much strength loss but if you went down to say 90kgs you should expect your lifts to go down as well.

its not so much bodyweight as BMI. you want as much muscle/fat surrounding the joints for stability.
