compound & isolation movements

this year im training for strength, my goal is to lift heavy and probably compete at some powerlifting & strongman events for the experience

i was wondering if i could throw in some bicep curls, and shoulder movements while still doing strength programs such as smolov & sheiko etc..

Shoulders; if im not doing smolov Jr. for my bench, i'll do the casual 5x5 standing military press, along with 3 sets of isolation movements to help with the delts.

Triceps; i usually do this with the first bench session i got for the week, I start off with Dips, and then move onto some isolation movements

Biceps; i'll throw these in where it fits, depending on the schedule for the week.

Will doing these isolation movements hinder my strength gains?

Do anyone else do isolation movements while doing strength programs?

also does jogging hinder strength gains? sometimes i jog to the gym and jog back (2k each way)

sorry if there's a topic about it, and im posting the same thing!

thanks in advance :)

if you guys are wondering what my current program is, it was actually someones program sheet they uploaded here, but i added in a day for the 5x5 military press, and added bicep curls on the bench (heavy) day.

It's the one with Gillingham Bench, Coan Phillipi Deadlift Program (extended to 12 weeks) & sheiko squat. You'll know who you are if you read this xD It looks like a solid strength program so im trying it out (in 3 weeks atm)

That sounds like what phedder was running...

Hah, yep that was mine! I called it the 'Mongrel' training block because it was a bit of everything thrown together

I definitely did accessory work during, I only really programmed the Squat, Bench and Deadlift percentages and had a loose plan for what to do after those movements, although the coan/phillip day the accessory was pre-planned, I didn't always do it as programmed. Went back through my log and found where I started the program, when you've got the time you could have a read from here and see what I did with the assistance work as I went through.

Let me know how you get on with it, would be very interested to hear how other people respond  I put it together as a way to try and focus on all of my weaknesses at once, and felt it did the job for the most part.
