~I can't squat~ FML Need advice.

A few months ago I developed a pain in my right hip/hip flexor? That aches only when I get to parallel or below whilst squatting. I also get a pain when extending my leg out in a circular motion to the right if you know what I mean.

Picture taken from one I found on google but a very similar position to my pain

It has been persistent even with at least 5-6 weeks of no squatting and have been trying my best to perform the agile 8 stretches(although not as much as I should be) for hip mobility, just tried squatting again today and boom first rep with just the bar and pain. I have tried narrower stance, wider stance, feet in, feet pointed further out to no avail.

I'm thinking I should go and see someone and would love some recommendations. I really do not want to waste my time or money with someone who doesn't really know how to help me and would most likely give me some variant of the above stretches.

Could it be something more major?

I get the same problem and it is possibly going to take some time to fix.

Agile 8 is good. I also find stretching the lower lats really good for some reason?

With me I either have developed a leg shorter from trainng/not stretching etc and am now imbalanced or born that way. For me, been more aware of how my posture is during life is helping, this may sound stupid but take note.

I have a sore left hip fleaxor sometimes during squats. I began to notice that during my everyday life, my left leg was always bent up. Relaxing on the couch, sitting down, lying in bed, driving the car that left hip flexor was always in a shortend position. When taking a piss I noticed that my left foot would poke out more, when lying down my feet are not even, the foot is poking out more. lol

So I now realise my left quad/hip flexor is crazy tighter. Stretching it helps but I also think trying to be aware of your posture during the day will also help and maybe weed out the imbalance if you have one. It has helped me and I am slowly getting better.

Just my experience as I live with the same problem.

Guess what I am trying to say is that 10min of stretching is good, but if your putting yourself back into a bad position regularly it may not help much.

Do you get a sore back?

Yeh now and again I do as well as quite bad neck pains. I try and foam roll my back on a regular basis and haven't had too many problems with it in recent times. I'm thinking maybe a Chiropractor might be the go? Maybe straighten my hips/legs out a bit? I'm in North Shore area so if anyone has any recommendations preferably North of bridge

I've been really impressed with Justin Lopes at the Roland Jeffery Clinic in Glenfield. That clinic looks after all the NZ Football teams, so they should be well versed in sports injuries - particularly legs. :)

EDIT: Tell him we sent you.
