is there any extra benefits in taking the brand names such as the xtends and aminoX etc rather than say nutratechs version? not fussed on flavouring and being a student the price difference is a major consideration

The unflavored BCAAs are extremely bitter, if you can stomach it, its the cheap option. Also doesn't mix well, pretty insoluble in water.

i 2nd that, drinking plain BCAA's is like drinking marmite

Meh

Powder goes in the mouth followed by something liquid. Repeat liquid to wash away leftovers. A bit crap the first couple of times but sweet as after that. Bugger trying to mix the stuff or paying bajillions for xtend etc.

A big tub of Xtend (1.2kgish, depending on flavour) is usually $80-95 from the states, 3 tubs of BCAA from Nutratech to total 900g is $93. I say 3 tubs instead of 4 (to equal the 1.2kg) because Xtend has Glutamine and Citruline malate in it as well which makes up that extra 300g or so. Easy mixing and delicious vs chunky and horribly bitter. Seems like an easy choice to me

Crikey that sounds righteous. I'll have to have a proper geez at the stuff.

true dont think of buying from overseas as i usually get just protein and creatine nothing flash. would taking these be useful for say on holiday where meals are irregular/ not usual foods/ quantities etc and just sip away on a couple of drinks a day? rather than taking protein powders etc on the road
