Not even 1 year old yet but we do have the 2013 fixtures coming up...

April 13 - Waikato/BOP Championship - Hamilton

June 8- Auckland Championship- Auckland

July 13 - National Bench Press Championship - Auckland

September 28 - NZ National Championship - Auckland

Dec 7 - National Deadlift Championship - Auckland

Coast Barbell Club will also be hosting the Mayday Sessions - all-comers training event - Sat May 4 - all lifters welcome. There's talk of setting up a "cage" for the day and having an open day/training session/BBQ/social event...The committee will release details inn the new year.

There may also be a couple of novice meets but dates and venues are not yet finalised and most events will have a novice section anyway. 8)

CAPO is growing quickly and as this growth takes place so will more events in more locations around NZ.

Capo NZ also has 2 lifters going international next year

Thanks for your awesome support!

hey- heard about whats unfolding in Oz with capo. You guys are affiated with GPA too right? Not trolling- some of my mates are capo guys here is Oz and I gather there is some questions now about how things move forward. Are you guys moving ahead as capo-nz or will there be some kind of re-alignment with GPA or doesn't it matter? Capo Oz nationals look like they are off and FitX is no longer a capo event. I guess things will work themselves out over time. Just made me wonder what it all means from the Nzers.

There has been no official word yet has there from CAPO?

Mere speculation and trolling until there is. I know the CAPONZ crew and they wont let if die even if it means name change or whatever. From thd sidelines at the last comp it looks like they have a solid crew and growing following. Prolly just those obnoxious ozzies slinging shit again

Not trolling. Not sure what you mean about obnoxious ozzies either. I believe the official statements have been made regarding the resignation of Peter (capo prez) and Wayne (tasmanian capo rep) from their positions with capo and also regarding fitx no longer being a capo event and also that capo nats are off.

CAPO NZ has not had any official word from it s parent body CAPO ...yet. Im sure there are things they have to work through first.

Regardless of the situation when it unfolds more clearly CAPO NZ already have 2 very viable options (discussed by committee) ready to roll. One is a status quo and the other a lot different.

When the times right and we have "the word", go back to committee and our members we will move forward.

There will always be an alternative to the NZPF in NZ

Cool- and whatever happens I'm sure Wayne will ensure the boys going to fitx will just come in under the GPA banner.

Big changes in store in oz no doubt, but probably a good thing.

Waynes a switched on cat...we will be getting advices from him in time and hes already emailed and highlighted a few points.

im thinking this will prob be the case, still sanctioned by gpa so will be able to still set/break records at the comp. the main thing is that its still on, had to get compp tee resized so looks like they have to reprint the comp tees

To all CAPO members,

On behalf of the Board I would like to apologise in our delay in communicating with you all. As you would appreciate with the resignation of 3 of our Board members in recent weeks it has taken some time to select the new Board members who, I must point out, have all volunteered to be a contributor on the Board.

The new Interim Board members are:-

- Michael Trentin

- Greg Hills

- Michael Nicholas

- Wayne Howlett

- Jeff Lam

- There is potentially one other member but I am not willing to release their name until they have had plenty of time to understand and appreciate the commitment that they are making.

Please be patient with us as it will take a few days for us to discuss and vote on our roles and responsibilities and the immediate way forward (this year’s events) for CAPO. We also need time to transfer all CAPO business, Assets, Bank Account etc from the old Board to the New Board.

The one thing that we can guarantee you all is that we are all very passionate about Powerlifting and have an appreciation for CAPO's rich history as well as its past and current champions. We acknowledge that what we do is for the members not individuals and we are committed to continuing the legacy and vision created by Dr Ahmed Dalvean.

We have already agreed on is that we must communicate better with you all therefore as from now we commit to keeping you abreast of all Points of Discussion outcomes ASAP.

In closing we urge you all to try and refrain from getting to caught up in the rumour mungering that is rife amonst us all at the moment. If you have any concerns or questions please direct them to one of the Board members.

CAPO is in a sound financial position and has got a very large membership basis. What is going on around us all at the moment will not see CAPO disbanded.
