I know having to hit your daily calorie quota with appropriate macro percentage depending on your body type and goals i.e. cutting or bulking forms the basics of ones bodybuilding regime ! 40%c 40%p20%f ....whatever be ur tried n tested one.... but all comes to a halt when I look at a ripped horse. ....do u think it gets 30-40 % p ? to stay that lean....tried Googling dint find any real read....thought I d post here ....waTs ur thoughts

Is he comparing humans to horses?

Why not compare us to cows?

Or trees

Or unicorns

Does he not realize the physiological differences that exist between mammals?

A horse can eat grass and digest it efficiently, the amount of grass it needs to eat is massive it spends most of it's day grazing.

Beast builder ... how abt mix grass n juice...would that sound more familiar???

My intention was to understand macros composition more from generic point of view...I.e. how do vegans survive ? can we learn something from nature.... do we have to eat 1-2gm of protein per lbs to maintain muscle ...why not keep the calories up. ...

oh i see what you're saying now. horses are powerful as hell, very muscular and lean. what is it that makes them tick? .. now i'm a bit curious about it too.

would have to do some research but my 2c for now :

* the lower levels of myostatin is probably a big factor

* genetics

* contrary to popular belief, plants do contain protein - just in very, very small quantities. the vegans who not just 'survive' but live healthy find their balance by eating the 'right' stuff. horses don't usually have access to the rich variety of foods humans do but what they do eat, they eat in large quantities so the small amounts of protein build up to sufficient levels for adequate growth

Agree with Ron, different animal with different genetics. They look muscular to you but that's just how horses are. I think what your seeing is that they are lean. How could you determine how swole they are if you compare them to us instead of other horses.

They all look pretty similar to me apart from maybe overall size (skeleton)

Just a side thought.

Low protein consumption can mean a higher testosterone level.

I know they do this to cows periodically to increase their total growth on top of other things. I assume the same environment could mean horses stay lean and still muscular to an extent.

What if you fed them protein though? Could they get bigger? but maybe less athletic looking?
