Awesome, looking forward to watching this. Best wishes to all competing, especially my friend and mentor Doug Mienie. Kick some ass guys. :D

Oh cool, Doug is going? Have competed with him a couple of times, nice guy, all the best to him as well

Yep, Doug is going. We've been working on a few problems he's been having with bench lockouts lately, so hopefully we've got it sorted in time for the competition.

This is pretty much everything he's been working towards in Powerlifting, so he's really stoked to be going. I think he may be looking at retiring next year and just doing more coaching since we have quite a few young buggers coming through who seem pretty interested in competing.

Still, if I can lift the weights he does at 73 I'll be damned happy.

This is going be an epic comp and one of the toughest I've been involved in to date. Not sure how I'll place, but the goal is 800kg total and then we'll see where that places me :)

The Super 13 is:

84+kg. Matile Stagata (Samoa) - WR Deadlift

66kg. Nghiep Luu (Aust.) - WR Deadlift

74kg. Bronco Deiranauw (Nauru) - WR Squat

93kg. Cazaly Jeremiah (Nauru) - WR Bench

105kg. Richard Hozjan (Aust.)

120kg. Jim Brechtfield (Nauru) - WR Squat/Bench

120kg. Cameron MacKenzie (Aust.) - WR Deadlift

120kg. Tavita Lipine (Samoa)

120+ kg. Daniel Nemani (Niue) - Danomyte \:D/

120+kg. Nathan Baxter (Aust.)

120+kg. Stephen Pritchard (Aust.) - EESSSPEEE

120+kg. Oliva Kirisome (Samoa)

120+kg. Ropati Mualia (Samoa)

Reserve — 83kg. Livingston Sokolo (PNG, reserve)

5 Aussies, 4 Samoans, 3 Nauruans and 1 Niuean \:D/

The battle with the SHWs will be an epic battle - potentially 4-5 SHWs could total over 800kg  Stoked to be sharing the platform with these guys.

But we all know the real SHW battle is the eating battle at the banquet afterwards - I'm going for GOLD in this event  :pfft: \:D/

Srs though - I'M BRINGING MY A-GAME

Cheers for the info there D! Strong SHW field!!

How does it work for weight class placings for you guys in the Super 13 since your competing on a different day to the rest of your class?

My understanding is that it is the same as having A and B sessions - the Super 13 will be like the A sessions for each weight class affected.

Just like at Worlds and/or the Olympics - the A session lifters always have the advantage of seeing what was lifted before them - but a B session lifter can still win/medal.
