Hello,

In 2006 I weighed 137kg of flab (over 34% body fat) and I have lost around 45kg (often sliding down my hill at 5:30am on an icy Dunedin morning to get to the gym). I have found it easier to do this when I have a challenge in front of me (ran a half marathon this year).

While I have cut a lot of fat I'm still not exactly looking great with my shirt off- so that is my next challenge.

I am currently 19-20% body fat- not great. So not sure about my specific goals yet (numbers wise) but am keen to work hard and see that number come down. I currently hit the gym 5 days a week and like having a (gentle) jog with the dog on Saturdays. My biggest nemesis? FOOD! So I will be pinching plenty of the ideas you share in the food and nutrition section.

Thanks for all of the info you share in these forums- some very cool stuff.

Hopefully I can share a thing or two from my own experience too.

Cheers :D

ha nice. just for your info, according to my calculations, assuming you are indeed 19-20% bf now, (and also assuming your lean body mass hasnt changed since you were 137kg), you would have actually been about 54% bf before, so very good job :)

Half marathon is nothing to be sneezed at mate. Awesome transformation in dedication.

Food is all our enemy. Whether eating more to gain weight or eating less to lose it. Throw in the need to make correct choices with this eating, and it is definitely a challenge.

But, you are already gaining momentum towards your goal physique.

After a while you will develop the habits that will last a lifetime. No matter who you look at around here, it's an ongoing battle against sloth.

Welcome.
