Just eat a normal meal rather than slamming massive qualities of sugar. I'm sure sugar spikes cortisone too......

I think this would always be argued from both sides. Science has proven though that a spike in insulin aids in nutrient update and muscle repair, and that it places the body in an optimal anabolic state.

So yea, might be bro-science for some, but it might work for others.

Yeah but fast digesting protein like WPI supposely cause a insulin spike also.

I think Muscle Tech started this "science" with their Celltech. Any story to sell you 90% sugar and a little bit of creatine in a shiny container for an outrageous price!

I guess it is an individual thing as you say, but I use to follow this way of nutrition and have stopped the last 7-8 months with no difference. Toast and scrammed eggs seem to be sufficient.

Protein synthesis is elevated for up to 36 hours after a workout. Timing isn't that important and over exaggerated. See this link http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8563679
