White Pasta

Recommended Posts

White Pasta is made largely from refined white flour. Refined white flour in itself contains almost no dietary goodness, so white pasta has no real heath benefits (no minerals or vitamins, fiber etc) also a high GI than whole grain or wheat pasta.

So wouldn't really call it bad its just like eating paper with macros I guess. It only has macro nutrients and no real micro nutrients inn short.

what do you mean by everyone? mate, do you have a sauce for this information :pfft: ?

well generally everyone as in every fitness website out there..tells you to leave out white pasta and rice etc because the carbs in it will mean the body will turn it into fat. but does this apply if you're quite active? because in which case some extra energy is always useful. thing is i'm bulking now and i want to gain mass just not in my stomach and apparently white pasta/rice is one of the main causes of abdominal obesity

It's basically broscience BS but for a lot of people, cutting out foods high in refined carbs in general tends to make somewhat of an improvement in their diets overall. Ignore the parotted crap about white rice and white pasta making you fatter than brown rice and wholegrain pasta though. They do tend to have a lower micronutrient count and less fibre due to the refining process but this shouldn't be an issue in someone with a balanced varied diet

Impossible mate you can;t decide where to gain fat and where not to, just like their isn't spot fat removal. To not gain fat and only muscle your calorie intake will have to be spot on which is next to impossible to do, I would just play around with your macro's a week or two at a time and monitor your weight on the scales and adjust macros accordingly.

mate it kind of sounds like you are asking the same question just phrasing it differently and hoping for a different response.

honestly with all that running you do you will not be able to keep up with the food intake to make yourself a fatty. there is pretty much nothing you can do in that time frame to screw yourself up so just give bulking a fair, honest go for at least 3 months and see for yourself. oh yeah, don't forget to take pics for yourself so you can compare where you are at with where you used to be.

on topic : unless you are having digestive problems or going on a weight loss diet (which you are doing the opposite of  ) then don't bother with the additional expense of trying to swap out all your white rices, pastas and breads for brown ones (unless of course those are things which you really like and will work in your favor : eating more -> gaining easier)
