Patellar problem, rest or train light?

I have agrivatted my patellars, I suspect from pushing out squats with bad form (rolling forward onto my toes and trying to quad the weight up) when I should have just conceeded it wasn't a good day for squats and walked away

anyway, it's been a week and they still hurt a bit, even just bodyweight squats. much better than they were innitially but still obviously not fully recovered.

I've never had any issues with my patellars before so all quite new for me, so wondering how I should treat this? give them another weeks complete rest or carry on and just go gingerlly?

seems I have learnt the importance of form failure over failure with squats

Hey brah been through this once, and looks like ill be going through it again On the other leg.

I Phucked mine up with leg press. I don't think ill do sets of 3s or 4s again...lol, my body is it ready.

don't go heavy, don't over so the volume And warm up.

make sure your form is good on any leg exercise

Eccentric exercises, works great to recover.

Ham and calf stretching seemed to work for me.

go to a physio if its really bad and hope they push you through to a specialist.

Ibuprofen helps if its that bad post workout.

How bad is the injury man?

don't f*ck around with this trust me! go see a physio, preferably one that has a decent rep. if you don't get it sussed you can fully f*ck yourself and cause it to tear free, now imagine that happening under a load. Not going to have a good time. Had this happen from rugby and 2 surgeries later im still scared shitless from any squats over 140. I'm not a fan of physios but in this case i wish i had been bothered enough to go see someone experienced. my 2c anyways.

Thanks guys. Everyone I've spoken to about it says be real careful with patellars so Im gonna give it another week as they do seem to be getting a little better everyday....so far. Although I have taken to wearing knee supports all day too for now.

Not too big an injury I think but maybe I should go see a physio. If nothing else, just to tell me how bad I actually have hurt them.

I damaged both MCLs. The inside of leg ligaments. They are still screwed. I can't get decent mass on the legs this time around, as I can't get the weight heavy enough. Even controlled knee over toes isn't helping.

Physio said that they have a partial tear. The specialist is next. I did them months ago, and braved it out. But that wasn't wise. Get help. It isn't the patella itself, but one of the connectors.
