It should be a good comp. I got a couple of mates who are going to enter.

For years I've been lifting out of South Auckland but there has never been a South Auckland comp (until the 1st one this year in July) - so I'm really amped about this comp happening #ProudSouthSider

I'll be having a lift as well and I'm looking forward to sharing the platform with the Iron Brothers - new and old - and catching up with the crew.

whats the entry fee?

are there lifter packs?

what time do you estimate prizegiving for?

what prizes are up for grabs?

a few of the boys from kura looking at competing, would be good to know. thanks.

Hi Haden cheers for your interest.

Entry fee is $20 to lift on the day. Prizegiving will follow the final flight of deadlifts. Most of your questions can be answered by reading http://www.sportsground.co.nz/files/sit ... EHANBQ.pdf or you can give Darren a text if you need something clearing up. Cheers

Yep, Im doing this comp as well. Ive had a bloody tragic buildup to New Zealand Record Breakers regarding injuries with a pec tear and dodgey knee flaring up the size of a basketball. So using it to find out where Im at with 2 weeks training...lol

PLUS...its Southside Auckland, got to support the crew...Big Danny I'll be following your lead champ!

Were squats to depth?

:pfft: Can confirm. Plenty of strong, deep squats. Pleasure to watch.

So...what went down?

Another well run APA comp. Good turnout again at the Papatoetoe Sports Centre drawing a big crowd, particularly for the squats. Big Danny putting up 300 raw easy again as well as coming away with PBs in the bench and deadlift. Reuben manhandling the weights leaving the crowd in awe with some of his bench reps that looked like speed weight. The two lifters that went through the GetStrength mentoring programme both came away 9/9 and and PBs across the board. Other highlights included a strong showing from Phil Middleton who has come on leaps and bounds this year, a comeback from masters lifter Kevin Strachan and strong lifting in the masters 3 from Old Bull. Plenty of other strong lifts on the day, my write up probably didnt do it justice. Lifters went away buzzing, Tonka /OB feel free to chime in with your own thoughts.

All in all a good day. On to the Bledisbro/Records breakers next week. NZPF #toostrong
