So who's going to check it out? Sat 3rd (tomorrow!) at ASB Showgrounds.

I don't know too much about the detail other than what I just saw on website but looks like quite a few MMA names gonna be there, lots of demo's, seminars and quality fights, plus strongman comp (dont know details?) and of course the Miss MMA comp!

Looks like some pretty good companies/organisations sponsoring this event so might be worth checking out the stalls early on (if you're a hand out hunter like me!! ).

My sponsors NutraTech and Bodybuilding.co.nz are also sponsors so I'll be there in a stall along with Peachy and probably big Darren. If you're around come say hi - I'm sure I can make you a shake (or convince you that you need to buy 8 bottles of fatburners! :pfft: ).

sounds like douchebag central

i'll be sure to wear my tapout gear and show off my tattoo sleeves

LOL - seems MMA attracts a bit of this...... but on the flipside look at bodybuilding.....

sounds like douchebag central

i'll be sure to wear my [NBE / TLAF] gear and show off my tattoo sleeves

:pfft: :pfft:

But what I've learnt along the way (and its been a way.... Grey Power FTW!) is that those involved in the sport are usually really good genuine people. It the fringers, nuthuggers and wannabes that sit on the sidelines and never actually compete (so not really MMA guys or Bodybuilders in reality) that give the sports a bad name. Armchair critics / hardmen of the sidelines I guess?!

Anyways I'm sure any loud mouths will quieten down if I suggest that I organise a quick 60 second round with Mark Hunt or the like for them.... :pfft:

LOL, in all fairness all/most fighters I have met have been the most down to earth non aggressive guys I've ever met. They have nothing to prove. The fanboys on the other hand...

This..

All the guys who say "I fight UFC" etc etc

il be there, keen as.

i reckon theres a huge difference in the attitude between people that train mma (or any fight sport) and the kind of spectators the sports attract.

the majority of people that train are athletes just like in any other sport, real nice guys (well the ones iv met)

its the dickheads that get pissed at the events and walk around tensed up eyeing people out that give the impression that all involved in fight sports are like this.

I totally agree, the fighters are over the tough guy facade and act like any other athelete. It's the bourbon drinking, tapout shirt wearing bogans that drive me nuts. I just want say to them "nice shirt bro, I bet you kick a lot of asses"

won't be attenting due to the target audience.

The crowd was sweet as. No Munter tough guys.

But after 20 mins I had seen all on offer. Bought some preworkout powder. Many we're still getting their shit sorted when I got there at 10:30. Pretty shameless when it opened at 9. I stayed for 30 mins. Did catch up with a PT I knew ages ago. Bonus.

Sluzzas selling 'pimp juice' made me think of Tom. Could see them loaded up in his car (does he even drive?) 8)

NZ is too small it seems, to attract enough people or have enough stalls.
