Mad Butcher:

Fresh sliced rump: $10.99kg

Lean premium beef mince: $9.99kg

Countdown:

5 cans of 85g Sealord Tuna: $7.00

Damn chicken breast is always on special during my off pay weeks. I really need to learn how to budget a bit better.

Countdown in Browns Bay has liquid egg whites next to the milk. In those bag bottles. I think it was about $7 for the equivalent of 29 eggs. Same as a tray, but already de-yolked.

If you needed it.

Maybe other Countdown's have it? Not mine though, as it caters to the corned beef and taro crew.

I got a bucket of it 2 weeks ago and it's fine. Tastes great, mixes well and with 24g protein per scoop it serves its purpose.

Interesting. I thought it tasted extremely poor (almost rice like) compared to the current myofusion probiotic.

Priced accordingly though I guess.

Maybe they goofed and sent me the wrong tub lol. What's the usual shelf life on a tub of whey? The expiry on this is Feb 2014

I'm the worst with planning food. I'm waiting for these guys to launch called Fit Me In. They provide the weeks meals- paleo and looks like more traditional body building ones (way more meat) delivered to the gym... they are just on Facebook atm though.. I'll try get more details price etc.

Cool, I messaged them, paleo menu is released tonight at $140 for 18 meals. All meat portions 200g.

They also said body builder menu will be released soon with 6, 12, 18 or 24 meals with 250g protein portions, 100g vege and 150g carb each.

Is evolv not cheaper?

5.5kg $140

nutratech 10lbs (4.6ish kg) $128

In the larger quantities it is.

Nutratech 1kg bag $33 per kilo.

Evolv 1kg bag $33 per kilo

2 x nutratech 5lb bags, $124 special price. $27.31 per kilo.

Evolv 5.5kg bag $140 per bag. $25.45 per kilo.

Nutratech 10kg bag $280. $28 per kilo.

Evolv 11kg bag. $24.90 per kilo. Hard to beat this for value.

What I was looking for was the best price for a 1kg bag of unflavoured whey. I have enough flavoured stuff to last for a while, just looking for some natural stuff for smoothies etc.

horse meat $50 for 18kg from mangere market :pfft:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/8 ... dish-in-NZ

Was not aware.

Are there any actual issues with eating horses? They are made of meat afterall... Surely cooking them is going to take care of most risks.

On the evolv powder - I had a couple of 1kg bags a few months ago and the front label did not have the white text on it and there was nothing on the back. So no origin, manufacturer or nutritional information. Not so keen on that.

Boneless/skinless chicken $10.99 a kilo at mad butcher.

Don't bother at mad butcher lower hutt though. Some skinny greek guy bought them all.

Are they actually all out of chicken breast down the hutt butcher? ... I was hoping to get some today after work.
