Unsure of moulding body

If my core is varied does that mean 6weeks later I will have a core that's little bit visible?... but main inquiry is will they go crooked and be in form but out of its straight definition (what I am after) because I have asked if it is a "body type" matter.

If you do straight up and down core exercises, like sit ups, leg raises and crunches, yes you will achieve 'straight' abs. On the other hand, doing twisting core exercises will rotate your abdominal muscle fibres, resulting in crooked abs. So in a nutshell, stay away from russian twists, wood chops and bicycle crunches if you want to have parallel perpendicular posturally perfect abs.

Tomleegolf, the shape of your abs is genetic not due to the type of core work you do. You can make your abs bigger etc but you cannot change the shape of them.

do heavy ab work to build up your abs like you would any other muscle, then when you are low enough bodyfat you will be able to see them.

A lot of people say it's pure diet, but abs will be much more visible & defined if you train them hard to get them bigger

totally genetic. in fact, the 'perfect' symmetrical abs are pretty rare to find. check out the various natural/enhanced bodybuilders out there and see how their midsection appears - some are great, some average and many below average (well, compared to the 'fitness models' abs we are used to seeing anyway)..

best you can do is train them up hard from all angles to bring them up and cut down your bodyfat to appreciate the details of what you were born with

Definitely makes a difference when youre cut tho, if you havent trained your abs, theyll be small and dont look quite as good as a full defined six pack (no homo).

we all ask questions which will sound stupid .. worst part is he's a beginner and probably took your answer seriously

he started lifting in june this year, definitely beginner.. imo 99.99% certain (0.01% reserved for the rare case that he might be some genetic beast) that all those numbers are a combination of e-stats, limited rom and heavily 'spotted' movements

I have read that the abdominals is one muscle which is held in place by tendons which create the portions giving the '6 pack' look. Can anyone else vouch for this?

True story, this muscle is called Rectus Abdominis..

The tendons splitting this muscle giving it the ability to curl over when it contracts rather than just contract in one part like most other muscles, if you know what I mean :lol:

Err...Kinda? The main abdominal muscle which is visible is the rectus abdominis, because it sits closest to the surface. But there are 3 other abdominal muscles which lie deeper and run in different directions. The rectus abdominis itself is what gives that six pack look, and yes the separations that form the 4/6/8 pack are caused by connective tissues. The vertical line that separates left and right is called the linea alba, I don't think there is a specific name for what seperates the top, middle, bottom etc? It's just an aponeurosis, basically layers of flat tendons.

...And there's todays anatomy lesson :pfft:
