I haven't moved to the country just yet but I will be arriving some time next week and being a competitive armature bodybuilder over here in Scotland its one of my top priorities to find a good quality gym to continue my passion in NZ.

I will be located in Christchurch City.

Just thought Id introduce myself and try get some pointers and maybe friends that can help me find a place to train :)

below is a picture of me at my last competition,I won my Junior class, as I am currently 22 going on 23 in march.

Stats from the comp

74kg

2.2% bf on the callipers ( overall I was 3.0%)

Lots of good gyms in chch.

Eastside barbell is home to many powerlifters and bbers. Good range equipment to get the job done. Squat racks and benches are plentiful. The owner is a abit dodgy tho :pfft:

Fitness Canterbury gets a good rep and produces some monsters. Never been their but heard good things.

im sure there are others but those two should def be considered

snap fitness

Now, now chemo Snap is still a step up on Jetts. At least they have free weights, now I know the ChCh Snaps arent great, but I train at the one in Wellington and it does the job for now, they've got a couple of power racks and dumbbells go up to 45's which isn't too bad. Space for deadlifts and olympic lifting too. Leg press can take 12 plates a side. For a 24 hour gym i'm pretty happy with it.

As for ChCh I'd say Fitness Canterbury or Eastside. Try them out and see which suits you better. Personally I'd go with Eastside, but then again what do I know I train at a Snap. \:D/

Thanks guys ill keep these suggestions in mind, i'll go take a little look at each and see what is close to me as I'm still not sure where ill be located.

As for how I got into such good condition, strict diet and good intensity in the gym followed by cycling too and from the gym home (40mins)

Kinda gutted there isn't tested shows,

Ill maybe need to step on stage SHREDDED and hope my condition will give me a chance ! :D

Anyway guys thank you for the warm welcome and response !

There are the athletic classes where your weight is restricted by your height, differs from each federation I think but I know one of them is your height in cm - 100 + 2 = max allowable weight in kg. So for you at 170cm/5'7" would be 72kg weight limit?
