Crossfit

Probably a leaner version of what you already are.

Ppl who compete don't just do wods for their training like the majority of people who use crossfit for weightloss and fitness.

Most will do oly lifting program's, strength program's or running program's separately depending on their weaknesses.

Doing a wod over and over will make you faster at it, but you will plateau without other training, and other training is the way to progress past those plateaus.

I just dont do a WOD either, I do a shit load of weight training as well. I understand that the pics are not always going to be true of a crossfitter. Anyway I need to go and WOD.. and maybe a fran.... Wait whats your fran time???

Iv never done a timed fran mate.

I don't time my circuits like that I just modify then usually adding more weight, adding a running element or adding other stations to make them longer.

I dnt really want to compete I just like being as strong in the gym as I can, look the part and be as fast as I can on the road or bush where I run. The rest is irrelevant to me. But I like the style and do base lots of my stuff around it.

Anyway mate it's awesome you've found something that motivates you to train harder than you've ever trained before while enjoying it at the same time. It will keep you fit, strong and healthy. And that's what's important :)

Fran is a workout.. Dunno why it's called that, nor do I care.

Consists of barbell thrusters and pull ups.

It is a time challenge 3 sets of 21 reps, then 15 reps, then 9 reps of each exercise, alternating in between non stop.

It's like the universal measure of how good of a crossfitter you are amoung crossfitters... Which is abit ironic seeing as more than half the ppl who do cf can't even do 21 pull ups, so it ends up taking them something like 20mins to complete.

So ppl can see huge cuts in their tones relatively quickly just by getting good at pull ups which makes them feel good lol

I am the anti Fran. Not because I hate the workout, but because I hate that people seem to think that someone's level of 'crossfit badassery' is determined by whether their Fran is sub 5 mins.

We had to do it at my crossfit cert and I can quite honestly say I did not bother looking at the clock :pfft:

Oh for whoever asked, all the benchmark workouts are named after chicks because anything that leaves you lying on the floor gasping for breath thinking what the f*ck just happened to me, deserves a girls name or something. May have quoted it wrong.

Love it, but as for my Fran time, I will ask my PT as I don't have it in my book but I know that I have done one. I am like ice cream I dont care about time, but I like to push myself to make sure that I do push myself..
