Anyone know a good physio in Hamilton?

Pretty sure I've torn something in my upper back and it's not getting better by itself, so does anyone know a good place to go to in Hamilton such as a physio to help with my problem. I got an ACC referral to go where ever I want so I want to go to the right place the first time and make it count.

Not sure if Fiona Goddard is still at Sports Med Physio in Hamilton (I saw her there about ankle problems several years ago), but I found her to be fantastic, and other family members have been happy with other physios at that clinic too. They dedicate a good amount of time to diagnosis and treatment. Peter Hunt sorted out my rotator cuff problem, also several years ago now, but his approach was a bit different - after the initial appointment he tended to see several patients at once, used those electric devices a lot, it all seemed a bit more rushed and less hands-on.

My advice is to start with one physio, and once they've made a diagnosis, ask roughly how soon you should expect to see improvement. If it isn't improving in that timeframe - despite you consistently following their instructions - and they're still sticking with their diagnosis, don't hesitate to switch to a different physio (at another clinic) for second opinion on diagnosis and treatment.

Vicky Dunlop is good I had dry needling do on my shoulder, chest and lats feel great afterwards and only cost $10 on ACC. Also had some lower back work done. But she is biased in Te Awamutu only a short drive from Hamilton I make the trip whenever I had issues with my lower back.
