NZIFBB nats

damn I missed the Nats

Saw Teina for the first time at Waikatos and he stood out there. He has a really great shape, small joints and full muscle bellies. He has a very well-balanced physique and from what I saw he doesn't lack anything when compared to his other body parts...as in I think he has brought up all his body parts in unison.

Pro-quality?

We have to accept that some guys awarded Pro cards arrived on stage Pro-ready, while others just stand out as the best NZ has to offer (as presented on the day) and then we hope they continue. He would have been asked if he wanted it, it's not forced on anyone. So we can assume that in taking it he has made a committment to improve, no one in their right mind would ever sit back on a Pro card...just having one isn't being at the top of the Sport at all imo. At least debut and then get a ranking to show how much of a Pro you really are.

But I don't think anyone expects a Pro card to only be given out to someone that would win a Pro show is what I mean.

I think Teina would look great in a line-up of Pros as he is but of course he would be at the bottom of the pack. At least now he has the opportunity to climb his way up those Pro rankings just as all the NZ Pros before him have had to do.

Some do it, some don't...but I would rather support a NZ Pro than hate on the fact he was awarded one...anyday

Anyone got any good picture comparisons between Teina and Garth?

As for accepting/not accepting a pro card, didn't one of the guys at the Olympia reject his pro card multiple times? Shaun Roden maybe? I can't remember who I just remember the commentators talking about it. I think this is a good decision.

However if Teina really does have the dream of going pro then maybe it's a good idea he took the card while it was on offer? If he rejected it Moe might not have offered it again?

dream of going pro? what dream is that? get a card and stop competing, for the most part that's what happens in nz.

and as for moe not offering it again if he was that good next year and the year after that he would come back bigger harder and better. win overalls and moe would offer him his pro card.

he will not compete in a pro show you heard it here first.

if daryl okenawei can't make it outside of nz this guy won't. I'm sure he looked good on stage but a pro can?

it's like winning the city to surf and being told you're an Olympic athlete.

i can't believe these guys accept pro cards, especially when he's got so much more work to do at an amateur level.

HAHAHAHAHA!

You're so wrong its funny

We sent our best under 51kg female NZ boxer to the Olympics and she was the worst. Being an Olympic athlete means you're at the top of the sport in your country.

Get it right!

What more does he have to do, he's the best in NZ with the IFBB Federation...what more can he do?

we're these the same judges that gave the AC to branch?

what has nzifbb come to if that's the top of the top?

moe doesn't have to give him his pro card. what does he need to do? gain 20 kg of muscle and drop 10 of fat and water. internationally which a pro card is about he's way off.

even you would give him a run for his money android.

Time will only tell what happened to Grant and his partner?

they had a Facebook melt down at moe accused him of all sorts of crimes told him to keep the pro card, grants family became involved, real ugly.

not what is expected of a pro, if anything grant and his lady look real bad. kind of backfired, moes still president and grants not with ifbb

Totally agree Grant made a dick of himself not matter what Moe did or didn't do. Poor sport. Puts a fake face on facebook, different person in-person IMO extremely arrogant.

Just my opinion though :D

What the hell are you talking about dogg196??? Do you even know what gyno looks like? Apart from the young Indian guy in Physique short no one in those pics really has that noticeable gyno.

I'm in too minds about Teinas pro card too. Sure I think he has a great build and was deservedly Mr NZ this year but by giving him a pro card it is denying us from seeing him on stage again in NZ unless we get some pro shows here. He has great potential and will grow from here but I think he would grow more by competing regularily over the next few years a pick up a couple more titles on the way.

The other side of the coin is that we may indeed see more pro cards being given out. How awesome would it be if there were 10+ competing IFBB pros in the country. We could hold our own comps, get the best on stage with each other every year with invitationals from around the world. Something like the Elite show 2008 every year would be awesome for the sport!

10 + competing pros? competing against who? themselves? the pro men barely go over seas due to cost and their standard being so much lower than over seas athletes.

Tina's a example of this, he's 5 years of training off from making an impact in Australia let alone the states or Europe.

Why not? If a pro show was held annually in NZ then costs to travel to the show would be minimal, and you'd get Aussie pros crossing the ditch to compete too plus a few internationals. If we can watch out top pro rugby players bash each other week in week out, why can't our top bodybuilders do it once a year and put on a good show.

I don't know why you are having a go at our pros not making an impact bbprincess. Darren O placed 4th at the Melbourne bro show this year.

Moe is putting a show on in March bro. gna be mean. a few of the competitors that came runner up in the overalls for their classes are also competing to try get pro cards..kurt dell, heidi, jade mckinnon, jo and garth, i think thats all of em.

so many haters in this sport. teina looks awesome and has a much brighter future than all the haters bagging him on this forum.

I don't think anyone's saying he looked bad, many are praising his symmetry and fullnesss. Just not at a pro level, yet. Definitely a big future ahead of him, the pro card's just possibly a bit premature?

no hate towards the athletes it's the give of pro cards to people who have no chance of winning or placing in a pro show outside of nz.

^ this hits the nail on the head. the pro card limits their ability to compete on the nz circuit. he needs more time and comps under his belt as an amature
