I would go for the Gorilla. Ability to grip with the hands and pull apart the joints. Claws arre only good to swipe with. Sure, they have a mean wack, but the grip strength outweights the bear slap.

Also has a stronger bench press ability.

Well, as it happens, this is a matter I know a little about.

I'm not sure about gorillas, but bears have been tested against lions, bulls, etc. The bear wins every time.

From memory i ones watched a show about male silverbacks and experts recon that it one of thee most if not the most strongest beast but you have a bear that stands over 8 feet tall claws that are over 6 inches and strenght to boot so my money is on the bear.

I'd go for the bear. if there were trees then the gorrilla would have had the advantage being able to climb and jump on the bears back. also the gorilla has the ability to fashion weapons from branches etc.

Mate in Thailand they have cock (rooster) fighting. I went to this annual festival put on mostly by miltary and the military community on the Burmese border and they had it there with the bare knuckle fighting. They attach hooks and blade type things to their back claws.. I thought it woulda been cool but even I thought it was fucken cruel so stopped watching after abit.

An Orangoutang would be stronger than a grizzly, chimpanzees can rip off human limbs with easy, a gorilla would destroy a grizzly, A gorilla would have strength to rag doll the bear. Bear is way to slow takes like 3 seconds to fully stand up. Gorilla is 10x faster and 10x stronger.
