fat distribution, hormones?

I know spot reduction is not possible, but am thinking there may be some kind of hormonal reason/genetics with my fat distribution.

my legs and arms are getting real lean, comparable to photos i see of people at ~10% bf, but my stomach, lower back are like 20-22%

I get quite a lot of ab work in, but they are nowhere near visible.

Also think posture may be a little to do with it, after seeing the APT in another thread, but not major and the main thing is the fat.

is this just the way it is and i should just keep losing fat until i'm happy? when i first started cutting at 120 i thought i should be pretty lean by 90, then 90 came and decided 80, am nearly under 80 now and still have a bit of a gut and lower back fat.. when does it end :-s forever cutting

don't be discouraged, men usually hold fat around that area,I am suffering from the same,Some will tell you it's genetic pre-disposition,some will tell you it's low test/high estrogen ,some will tell you it's insulin resistance.

I think it's a combination of everything and fortunately all of it points to one thing DIET. Be CONSISTENT with your diet ,And it has to be clean and accounted for ,no Sugar at all (especially if you got's lower belly fat)seriously. I KNOW this and I struggle to be consistent and that's why I don't see the results. You make peace with that and you should be good.

NO SUGAR!!!!

There are lots of theories on this. Charles Poliquin, founder of the bio-signature approach to nutrition and training promotes this. http://www.charlespoliquin.com. Using his principles your ‘fatness’ indicates that the hormones cortisol and insulin are an issues. These can be addressed by diet. If you are interested in following up on this I would advise you to seek a bio-signature practitioner in your area. Use the link above and to find a list of people you can work with. Also goggle bio-signature for some back-ground info.

I also read some where cortisol and insulin have an influence on fat storage, but not location...

Stress being the common reason and sugar abuse.

sweet cheers guys, will have a good read, makes sense it is diet.

one thing i noticed that made a huge difference was cutting out all alcohol around start of this year, the change was pretty quick, a few weeks and the gut and bitch tits had shrunk heaps, without losing a huge amount of weight, but still not quite to where i want to be.

From memory along the lines of the bio-signature theory, fat around the belly is linked to alcohol and sugar.

What types of diets have you been using to lose all your weight?

Congrats by the way, thats a huge achievement losing all that weight

Do you do much resistance training?

yeah lift 5-6 days a week.

diet i started out as close to 0 carb as possible until around 95, then high protein, moderate carb and fat.

would keep on keto, except i feel way stronger with a little carbs, and i train boxing also, which would be pretty hard on keto
