Sanity Foods

Recommended Posts

Got this idea from Soundsgood's journal where I thought it would be an idea to compile a list of people foods that keep them sane while dieting. The criteria is something satisfying/fills you up while not being a cheat meal i.e. must be low in calories. One of the Dolans found some sweet chilli sauce that was 0 Carbs as well by memory? If someone could post that up it would be cool. Here's a few to get the ball rolling:

Shiritaki Noodles

- Next to no calories

- Next to no carbs

Mountain bread

- Very low calories, I think 80-70 per wrap.

Weight watchers Jelly

-Next to zero calories

great thread idea.

my standard filler meal lol is :

weight watchers jelly

+ gelitine (baking section of supermarket)

+thriftee (cordial section)

= very low cal jelly (only cals from protein, and not that much)

play around with the mixture, i usually use 1 pack weight watchers jelly, 1 or 2 tbsp gelitine, water as per instructions, splash of thriftee for taste

you can do it with a few packs of the weight watchers jellys but they're like 2$ each, way cheaper using gelitine.

Where do you buy Sirataki Noodles? and the chilli sauce?

You can find them in the international isle of the supermarket or at asian supermarkets/stores. Alternatively contact http://www.madeinnippon.co.nz/

I found Shirataki Noodles! Got a packet of both Brown and White.

Was surprised when I got the packets fill of a fishy smelling liquid! Taste great though will some curry powder.

I use to eat alot of that weight watchers jelly but a little wary about all the artificial flavors, sweetens and dyes.

Lite cottage cheese, stevia, sliced almonds, half scoop of vanilla protein powder. Mix well and consume. I've found this especially good at night.

Weight watchers jelly is also awesome - eat the whole bowl if you must. Can add protein powder before putting in fridge to set - turns kinda moussey.

Coke Zero - not a found, but can fill you up quite nicely.

"Cauliflower Rice" - grate cauliflower, saute in cooking spray with garlic & black pepper. Is good with anything 'saucy'.
