2007 NZFBB Wellington Champs - now April 21

Recommended Posts

The first NZFBB event for 2007 will be the Wellington Champs at Memorial Theatre, Victoria University on April 28th.

The name change (this early event is usually called the Capital Champs) is because our late Wellington regional event will this year be held in Masterton, Wairarapa (the North Island Champs on September 15).

Our full event calendar will be finalised next month, probably after the first executive meeting for the year - scheduled for Sunday, Feb 25th.

If anyone has any questions about this event, or any other NZFBB matter, please don't hesitate to ask.

I'm organising the event, as well as the North Island Champs in September. Anyone wanting more info is welcome to contact me via email (terry.hills@xtra.co.nz) or phone (0274 303 654).

I should have the event poster printed by early March, so if anyone wants a copy that isn't on my regular distribution list, please let me know.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've had to bring the comp forward one week from April 28 to April 21. This is due to the IFBB Australasian champs being moved back a week from April 22 to April 29.

I'm expecting a few competitors will do both events (hence the date change), and I plan to offer a travel subsidy somewhere in the range of $250 to $400 for the trip to Sydney for the overall winners at the Wellington champs.

So if any of you want to consider doing two top events in April, it's not too late to start preparing for them!

Yeah, sorry Andrew - it's difficult finding dates where the venue is available and it doesn't clash with other events.

One plus is that there is a very good chance that the NZFBB Nationals will now be held on either Oct 20 or 27 rather the Oct 13 - the same day as the NABBA Nationals. The two events are being held in different cities, but I imagine a number of competitors would like the chance to compete at both, which now seems possible.
