what would some one do with a 90kg dumbell???????

wow

DB rows?

No mate, some of the Polynesian guys use them for flats.

Its a shed gym in south Auckland if someone can verify the name?

There is a big fat ex-inmate who uses them, and he got 220kg's flat bench for 3 at Don Olivers. Weighs 170 and only 6 feet tall but very overweight.

That would be an impressive feat. I find that they start to dominate me if I go too heavy. But if you weigh 170 kg then you would be okay lol. I love watching Branch Warren and Stan Efferding rep big DBs.

INB4 snoopy calls out the doc for a flat dumbell bench comp

He's got me covered. :)

Have got 75's for 2

How many reps can you do with 140kg's flat? I got 13 today :D

Didn't you get 20 at one point?

I'm not sure bro. 13 reps is impressive.

I have done 45 reps on 100 kg and 10 sets of 10 on 140 kg. I will give 140 for reps a go next week and post it up.

Yeah bro please do, you are one of the few great benchers we have in NZ.

Give me a goal to beat!!

and 45 reps on 100?! your 2 reps off the American combine record for an offensive linesman last time I checked?

Good lifting

The great benchers compete. Simanu, Best, Gibbs, McCormack, SP (he's really a Kiwi), Lousich. These are the guys we need to recognise.

I think Stephen Paea did 49. His were even uglier than mine. :)

I just want to add Greg Turrell and Zane Waapu-Wairama to that list, a few more out there too I'm sure but they popped into my head. I recall another youngish guy hitting 200 in the 83s at Nats, massive chest and arms.

Ive had 250 with comp commands out of Greg in training. In a loose super kat too. Im trying to fatten him up for NI Bench in September

Dont forget Jason Gerbich too. Popped up a fast 270 at Auck bench this year. Capable of more too Id say 8)

Across the ditch and in the US/Russia etc 300+ is old news

inb4 multi-ply and drug use

Good lord, I suddenly feel rather small and insignificant. However, how many of them can plait their chest hair! That's right. :P

^^^ i think you are referring to Brett Gibbs. I agree with your comments. :-)

Aw could have been Ben Wood from Eastside, he hit 200 in the 83s, I think he'd be pretty happy getting called young ish though, probably happier you said he has big chest and arms :pfft:

Just checked the results and yep that's him. How old is he? And I was definitely 'mirin his arms :shifty: Looked massive for 83s.

Yea bro, he's a beast for sure !! I think he just likes to wear the shirt cos it's the next step up in tight t-shirts, he'd wear it to the clubs if he was allowed :pfft:

I believe he is late 20s, still plenty more in him yet !!

13 full proper reps on flat bench with 140kg snoopy??

Lol bs

Hahaha yeah bro!!

You take a weight you cant lift like 220kg's and take it out the rack and hold it then rack it.

Rest 5 mins then do it again.

2 mins after that your nervous system will be primed for a big load and the 140 will feel relativley light, lighter than it would If you hadn't handled the bigger weight.

How many you got?

Just read this whole thread sorry I have nothing to add really but F&&Kin laugh..... snoopy when you hit over 305kg for a single bench rep in a comp at anybody weight fat as you call it or at a pencil neck status I'll take a bit more notice of your comments thats the NZ record the world record is over 455kg yeah untested and mutliply bla bla bla ..... but it is not 13 x 140kg and bouching that shit like a tramp I could only imagine  yeah still good for a gym lift but in the powerlifting world it's shit..... let face it

Inb4fuckyou'llhashbrother.....

but just for the record you bench 155kg at the last coast comp for a single? which was really good raw well done.... you seem to have improved alot over the last 6 - 8 months 140 x 13 would stick you at the 210kg bench mark raw going off the one rep max cal... yeah its not always right so I would look forward to watching you bench 190+ with ease

And if you do bench 200 + under 90kg raw in a comp that would place you as one of the best pound for pound benchers in NZ.... is this real life :pfft:

not hating just keeping shit real keep training hard.
