If they see something bodybuilding related & they've had a bad day, they'll throw it on a sorting pile and go threw it at some stage of the day (hopefully).

I've had boxes from BB.com opened & resealed by customs before - I never really expect anything ordered from the US to turn up at on any specific date....... I just get a bit pissed if I haven't seen it in 6 weeks :evil:

It used to be, not so much now.

It's more about variety & availabilty of certain products for me although, most of what I want is here now anyway.

I haven't bought anything from the US in a long time.

I dont think you need to worrry after only one day, as said it is busy at the moment, I still order from the states but not as frequently and only things I cant buy here. There is not as a big a difference as there used to be.

I'm off to the states in January, so will be interested to see just how much of a difference there is to their retail pricing.

In all the years I have ordered off bb.com I have only had two orders sent back. If the invoice is kept under $400 including freight customs will let it go through. If not it can be weeks and they can charge extra before they will dispatch it. Let us know how you get on

From memory if it's worth over $400 NZ you have to pay 40% of the declared value to customs.

On orders over about $400NZD you'll most likely have to pay GST of 12.5% on the total order charge plus the freight costs, and duty of 7% on the order charge.

The reason they do this is to keep NZ made products pricing competitive with overseas. You'd have to pay the same thing if you imported a car, clothing, shoes etc, although duty varies depending on the goods imported.

Also you may get problems with importing raw ingredients like guar gum and synephrine.

I remember one order off ebay the seller had declared the value at $100 US and customs didn't believe it so I had to send them the actual amount I paid for the items (which worked out to be around $900 NZ) and I paid around $350 on customs charges.
