bicep shape when rested

So you were doing leg press, but didn't achieve wider quads until you introduced squats, Android? Interesting. My experience was the exact reverse! For me, it was going back to leg press recently (which I'd been neglecting for some time) that started growing the outer sweep.

Anyway, impressive though your leg transformation is, I'm not convinced that the same logic applies to biceps. The quads are made up of multiple muscles, so it makes sense that you can change the shape by building one muscle as opposed to another. Biceps, on the other hand...

yes you're right, complex muscle vs a round ball of a muscle.

Maybe I was doing Leg Press wrong. I was loading up 10pps and they never grew but could have been form. But the change of exercise made an immediate change for me. Would work in reverse...Squats for ages then switch to Leg Press sees a change in the muscle shape via size increase in different areas.

But yeah bicep...Maccaz said his peak is fine so we're not talking about changing the shape of his peak. It's the look of the muscle at rest.

I think you can have a bicep that hangs down below your t'shirt sleeve.

If you don't have that today then make the thing big enough that it does, which was his original thread question I thought. (No-one disputes u cant change genetics)

Interesting.

Who here would turn up to the gym everyday if you couldn't change your shape?

Or are you all just a bigger version of the same shape, like you were born with a mean quad sweep or a v-taper.

training will change your shape of course but i don't think you can manipulate the shape of a muscle, it will grow how its going to grow.

it's true that you can't change the actual shape but is it false that you cannot emphasize the illusion of the peak by bringing up other parts of the muscle? (in this example, bringing up the brachialis)

You can change the shape of a muscle in terms of targeting different heads especially in complex muscles like the quadriceps (literally means 4 heads). But you can't change the shape of the muscle belly per se. That's genetic. I think they say the long head is the one that contributes mostly to the peak? So getting this to contract would MAYBE make the peak bigger. You could do that by doing any biceps exercise where your shoulder is flexed like a preacher curl.

As for the lower portion I'm pretty certain you can't change that, its just where the biceps inserts onto your forearm. Maybe working the muscles around it like brachioradialis or brachialis will give that illusion?

Interestingly if you do bicep curls on one side and not the other, the side that isn't worked will still grow. Muscles tend to grow as a whole and even your body will grow as a whole, its in its best interests not to get too out of proportion. The reason I say this is if your biceps are topping out at 16inches maybe your shouldn't be worrying about developing your "peak" or "lower bicep" or whatever and instead just focusing on getting bigger, your arms will grow with the rest of your body.

you cant shape a muscle unless you use synthol.

I wana shape my biceps as hearts, so when I flex them they attract all the babes and I am like ay gurl you made em do that
