Hello everyone, as the forum section says

Im 28 from good old Temuka

I'm doing body for life program and im on week 9 now, I take ON protein suplements and eat about 6 times a day small lean meals, 1 day off a week.

Also take a multi, fish oil, and trying crazy slim fat burner.

Also take "the curse" for a pre workout, which seems to work surpsingly well.

Anyone got any hints so i can burn more body fat? My arm sand legs are becoming quite toned and fat free, but its the good old gut that is holding me back, having said that iv lost 10kg in 8 weeks, so thats pretty good.

Any help is much appreciated :)

Hey cheers for the reply.

I estimate my calories at about 1200 - 1400 a day (I did work it out once so im averaging it, as i try to vary the food i eat a little)

Having said that, the body for life program isnt all about calorie intake vs engergy expenditure as conventional "dieting" methods suggest.

Its more about increase your muscle mass to burn the fat.

I'm 5'9" and at the momment weight 90kg flat. I roughly worked out that I should weigh around 75kg (OPTIMUM~!) having said that, that would be a major goal, and i would have thought will take me a year or more to get to.

But given my height, age etc how many calories should i be consuming?

I know that roughly when i do HIIT, i burn around 300 cals. but i only do HIIT 3 times a week, as per the program ( i try to follow it exactly as it is working)

Thanks for the replies :D

Slight noob gains aside, you are not going to add muscle at 1200-1400 calories per day naturally... If the protein levels are high enough then you may maintain what you already have but you need to eat more than that to add muscle mate.

Still, if you think you are still 10kg or so overweight and are making good fat loss progress, then keep it up a while before upping the calories to add more muscle. You've already lost 10 kg so it's obviously working. Just make sure you eat enough protein and keep training to ensure you aren't losing lean mass as well. If your strength starts to suffer then up the food a bit.

Just be prepared to make tweaks along the way. What works for you as a noob 20kg overweight may or may not work for you so well 20kg lighter & 6 months later

Sweet.

I worked out that of that number of calories im still taking in around 150g of protein a day roughly (give or take)

If my goal is fat loss and muscle gain, what should i be doing?

The help is appreciated

You can't really do both significantly at the same time (again naturally) although there are exceptions to this like initial noob gains and body recomping over a long period. Focus on one then the other.

Get your bodyfat down to under 15% then look at a lean bulking program of some kind.

150g of protein would be the minimum I'd recommend.

And the best way to lower my bodyfat to under 15% would be keep doing what im doing?

My goal isnt to be a bodybuilder persay, just loose fat, have a better physique so to speak, be healthier.

Well it seems to be working. Just remember the leaner you get the more protein you'll need and the slower the fat will come off.

What is your current bf%?
