Recommended Posts

here is 4 months of calisthenics training, i have done it all naturally. i started with a slimmer physique, i do not want to big and bulky but any tips on putting on a little bit more size using these workouts would be appreciated. thanks.

Good stuff, mate. How tall are you? I tried a bit of calisthenic training, failed miserably, and blamed it on my height. (6" tall = long levers, you know...!) Looking at your build though, I might have to come up with a new excuse!

To be honest, if you're wanting to grow, you're already doing the workout, so you need to look at your diet. Check out the Resources box in the Diet forum for some basic articles and calculators.

Good stuff. You rely on your right shoulder and triceps for your boost though (when doing muscle ups), and if you are after balance, should consider that the more you do it like you do, the bigger the difference will become.

Do you practice using the left as your boost? To try and get it so you can do it evenly eventually? Not knocking you at all, but I think it's a valid observation.

Do you do lunges? Beware upper-lower imbalances (not only in function, but in looks as well).

Sandbag lunges, tuck jumps, sandbag thrusters, squat jumps... include them.

thanks for the support :)

I am about 6 foot also hence why i still appear quite slim.

I have made the mistake of neglecting legs a bit. i do some squats but have mainly develop my legs with cycling, running/hill running and skipping.

I understand the idea behind putting more muscle on your legs to produce more testosterone to then assist the upper body growth so it may be something i get into.

my diet to get like this was pretty clean, i didn't follow anything super strict but ate lots of veggies, tuna and brown rice and stayed away from fatty foods as much as i could. i also wasn't eating carbs at night. it was relatively low carb which is how i became lean. i need to learn more about carb to protein ratio in order to get bigger, is this correct?
