Bulking diet but not gaining

So a week ago I noticed I'd lost 8lbs from my recent peak and got pretty pissed off.

Of the past 7 days, 6 averaged 3983 calories and one "cheat" (or shit) day I didn't bother counting.

Gained about 2.6lbs quickly, just from being dry and empty, then exactly no change over the past 4 days.

Obviously these are short times frames but what the f*ck :evil: ? How can I eat more than 1000 calories over maintenance with no cardio wasting precious calories and get nothing; measured or weighed.

How do you know what your maintenance is? Did you just calculate it from the formulas, or did you actually measure your intake over a period of 2-3 weeks with no weight change to determine it. If it was the former, perhaps you're an outlier and your maintenance is higher than normal. What are you stats?

I'd suggest keeping the diet the same for the next week or 2 and monitor your weight, if there's still no change then that's likely your maintenance level, and then you know you truly just need to increase calories.

I have found a few errors over the past few weeks but have fixed them up.
