donkey calf machine in south auckland or close

hey guys and girls. i'm looking for gyms with a donkey calf raise machine located in south auckland or close to (south central maybe?) hoping to get at least 3 gyms so i can inspect and compare prices etc. thanks

I personally have never seen a donkey calf machine at any gym I have been to. Any reason why you require this particular machine?

Fitness plus doesn't have one, however if you use the hacksquat machine and face towards it you can pretty much use it as a donkey calf machine....

i train alone and prefer not to have strangers sitting on my back and expecting them to stick around for 3 or 4 sets. i guess i'll stick with the alternatives using the leg press/hacksquat machine

What about a standard calf raise, or are you looking to target certain aspects of the calves?

yea the gym i'm thinking of rejoining has standing and seated calf raise machines but i would join another if they had a donkey calf one. might try donkeys with a dip belt

knew what donkey calf raises were, but didnt know such a machine existed! i personally dont see any way on earth it could possibly work the calf muscle any differently than doing calf raises on the leg press machine.

i think there IS a difference between doing calf raises on the legpress machine where you have your calves in the air as opposed to standing up and performing them in that you're getting more blood into the muscle with the help of gravity. how much of a difference? :shrug:

here's a clip of the best alternative if you can't use a donkey calf machine using a dip belt and a smith machine.

better than if you load plates directly onto the dip belt. you'll find that you'll have to widen your stance as you add more and more weight.
