Which WPI?

For cost, taste, and mixability, I like the chocolate Cytosport Complete Whey.

I agree. Works out around $1 a serve. The after taste of the Cookies and Cream flavour was a bit artificial, which is the only negative (so it isn't much of an isse).

I have just switched to BioX Power Whey. At $80 for 2.27kg I am happy. Tastes and mixes great. Vanilla. (they have a rocky road flavour, but I stuck with the mainstream taste).

I am lactose death, and this has very low lactose, and I have not got crook from it at all.

If you want to go WPI, I would suggest 'Allmax Isoflex'. supplements.co.nz stock it for around $150 for 75 serves. That's $2 a serve, and has glutamine and other extras thrown in. Not a bad price for WPI per serve. Perfect for lactose folks.

I'm currently taking Dymatize Elite WPI, and am looking at trying Evolv or Venom. I have to get chocolate flavour, as my partner wont have anything else... What do you recommend? Flavour and mixability?

Thanks!

Been cranking venom for last few months.. highly recommend it. I get plain and add my own milk shake flavour. Ras, choc, lime what ever tickles your fancy. Option there to get flavoured. First tub of WPI at 8lbs was $150. then after that with a voucher you get it for $130. Soooo dam cheap for WPI. works out $16.25 a lb or $36.00 a KG.

Quite dark chocolate, but it's real cocoa, not the fake flavoured rubbish. Not sickly sweet, either. The powder sometimes has quite a strong smell (somewhere between ammonia and blue cheese!) but that disappears when mixed.

However, I've just seen that the OP was asking about WPI, and this is a blend I think, not a straight isolate.

Yea, WPI, but I feel mentioning WPC is beneficial. Without knowing the OP's reasons for WPI, putting perspectives into the mix won't hurt.

Angela, if it is about lactose intolerence, higher protein content and purity then WPI is an option, for sure. But if it is about value for money, you can get more bang for your buck with WPC/ blends and add an extra half or full scoop to the drink (to increase protein) and it still works out cheaper a lot of times than buying WPI alone.

Even the humble Nutratech is a good start (WPC though). I thought their chocolate was decent enough to drink twice daily.

Is there a definite reason for only wanting WPI?

Agreed. I've been using Venom WPC for ages but recently tried 4kg of the plain WPI. It mixes as easily as the WPC, easier maybe and tastes very mild. In fact, there's hardly any taste at all, which makes it ideal for smoothies and adding milo etc. At $130/4kg, it's a deal!
