Fontera WPI (Alacen 850) discounted at Davis

Dropped into the Davis Trading retail store today to score some nuts (no homo) and they are doing the WPI 20kg sacks at $750 - 10% ($675).

Still a lot of $ to drop on a bag of powder but $75 off helps. They were selling small 800g tubs as samples so I just scored one of those for now but the guy said that there is no instantised WPC at the mo so they have discounted the WPI.

It's fucken good stuff, 93.5% protein. If one scoop is one serve which is 30g of powder (28g of protein) you are getting 666 servings at $1/serve. So pure there is basically no taste.

Id say this is one of the best deals around but prob best for a few peeps to chip in for...

Anyway just letting you guys who prefer it by the sack know about it :)

The WPC they currently have in stock, although not advertised as instantised, i can tell you it mixes fine. I got a 25 kg bag for $500.

Cool. I think they guy said they had the WPC for $450 but that might have been for 20kg not 25kg. He said it needs hella shaking but if you say otherwise I guess it's gtg

Great value

How much was the 800g tub???

$37

hey I was thinking f buying some of this wpi and just mixing it with my regular prot ,anyone done that?

As Azide said that works well but you may want to save yourself a few hundred $ and just buy their WPC if you're just gonna mix it with more WPC (and potentially milk).

Of course it's still fine but if Im paying for that extra for WPI I don't like to mix it back into shit that has fat and lactose in it. Kinda defeats the purpose of paying that much more IMO, although admittedly WPI+WPC > WPC+WPC.

Depends how much you care really

yup goes good with WPI or WPC. you dont even need much of your flavoured stuff to give it flavour. Think i did 1/4 flavoured, 3/4 unflavoured or similar

thanks 4 the idea bro!

If you get it you'll need to also buy a suitable airtight container if you don't already have one. It will absorb moisture and odours, etc from the air quicksmart if it isn't sealed away. I remember reading about a guy who had an open sack of it and then roasted a leg of lamb and the powder absorbed the smell and he had protein with a mild roast lamb flavour for months... Could be worse I suppose lol

I've got a lockable one like this and the powder keeps fine for months

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got back from Davis, they had sold out of the Fonterra stuff but they had a 25kg bag of Tatua WPC for $540.

It looks and smells pretty much the same as the Fonterra stuff and its hard to beat that for value.

*edit. They said the A450 was out until about September.
