Floaters in the eye?? WTF

Against All Odds

Ahh but this could be a blessing in disguise, your body might respond to lighter weight high rep and trigger some new growth.. Crazier things have happened!

Obviously your call though, I'm just trying to say that all hope is not lost and there are ways to still get your lifting fix!

glad you got it sorted - the laser will stop the bleed but expect the floaters to take time to disappear (black floaters are congealed blood - they are slowly re-absorbed). glad it wasn't a bleed underneath your macula - these seriously affect your vision - and you'll need to get some pretty nasty eye injections (whilst awake) haha. play it safe till the times up then go hard out.. .

^^^ i'd advise you to go to your GP and ask to be referred to an opthalmic specialist for this. your high-street optometrist isn't qualified to be looking into this on your behalf. again it could be something simple like a small bleed at the back of your eye - but it could also be the sign of something neurological - especially as its after intensive excersion. don't want to put the shitters up you - but certain brain issues (multiple sclerosis is one) can show as vision problems in the early stages. get it professionally checked. if you didn't read before - i work in ophthalmology. get it seen to.. .

Are you gonna try and work on your breathing technique?

You mentioned the Valsalva maneuver. As far as I am aware people generally don't do this in lifting and in itself could be the problem/dangerous... you are supposed to breath out as you lift breath in on the negetive as a general rule??

I'll be more mindful of the breathing part for sure. I never really gave it much thought.

So let me get this right, breathe in on descent and out for the duration of the way up??

I've read that people will hold their breath at top of lift, squat down and and some time on the way back, between getting out of the hole and to the top breathe out.

Looks like I need to do more research.
