knee wraps for reps

Recommended Posts

omg it's true they're parsing a single brand word and preventing other legit bodybuilding items from being displayed ... titan, apollo, and my unlabelled brand  oops

Surely this can be contained to just the steroid and playground sections with a little bit of php smarts...?

160 for two raw 160 for 5 with **** THP 2m knee wraps

Why do you want to start using them anyway?

more weight = more muscle? i duno man just something new to try and see what happens from doing it.

I find that if I am able to get say 6 reps with a weight without wraps I can add a plate per side and get 6 reps with wraps on.
Not sure what kind I use, but I can get an extra 3 or 4 reps on them. Depends on how heavy I'm going. If I use wraps for 140, it'd probably give me an 8 rep carry-over.

had no idea the carry over would be this much. will give them a go this week will prob take a while to get used to though. thanks

Was doing 205 for 10 sets of 3 without wraps during a session my last time through Smolov, and at about set 4 I think I failed the 3rd rep. Popped the wraps on... and got a set of 10 @ 205. Weren't particularly tight either (I don't think you'll want them tight for reps)

Agree with Drizzt. You have to have them reasonably loose for reps do you might not get quite a much carryover as you would if they were tight for a 1RM but at least you won't cut off circulation to your calves so you can't feel your feet anymore :shifty:

I don't enjoy doing anything more than triples in wraps but each to their own

Try Jackals Gym, they had them last time I checked. Rehbands (the blue ones) are IMHO better if you want to fork out a bit of extra coin. Couple mm thicker.

page is taking a while to open...

Im sure that site is in Aussie isnt it? Isnt there some one on the shore in Auckland that sells these products?

hey mate, im just about to order a couple.. Any reason why blue is best..

Wont the ones with the open knee support stay up a lot better..

Then there is the new grey one that is supposed to be contoured, wont that stay up better than the blue one..

Can I have your thoughts please?

Blue are thicker, they don't make the Rehbands in 7mm anymore. The greys are 5mm. I've noticed the difference in warmth between the two thicknesses (TK vs Blue Rehband), feel a lot more snug in the Rehbands.

TBH, either way you go will be fine, the thickness is a marginal difference, and consensus on the net is the Blues are preferable (due to the thickness, some say they're more durable too), but the Greys are fine as well. If you're going for the Greys, shop around. I directed you there as Jackals is the only store in the world that does the blues (and they do TK like you originally wanted).

As for open knee, I'd prefer the full coverage personally, and for my purposes (Powerlifting) I believe it can't be open-knee so that has never interested me. Fwiw the full sleeve/non-open stays up fine. The TKs you originally mentioned don't have an open knee.

I've had open knee ones that haven't stayed up as well as the Blue Rehband, and the one cold spot is a bit annoying (wore for rugby) But that's up to you, I'm not sure it makes a massive difference.

I've got a pair of T.itan sleeves for my elbows that are very similar to the Rehbands (7mm, feel the same), but stitching is coming undone, so they don't appear as durable. Also know of someone else at my gym with the T.itan sleeves that has stitching coming out. But if you aren't worried about that, they can probably be had cheaper than the Blues from liftinglarge.com.

just paid for and ordered two Rehbands from jackal site..

:-)

Im worried I have not got the right size as my size was actually just in the largest available group.. I ordered the one smaller as i wanted a tight fit..

I guess I can always flick them on tardme if they are too tight and reorder the larger size if need be.. Time will tell I guess.. Hope they dont take too long to get here..

cheers for all your guys help....

I think I know what you mean, e.g. Large is 50-60cm, but you're 61cm? (for example)

I was right on the edge of the range too, and went for the smaller size, tighter is better than looser (with certain exceptions!).

Mine arrived within a week from memory.

Mine have done the same. Pretty disappointing really, expected better quality from them.
