Does anyone else swim for cardio?

I find it really good on a weekend to do a half an hour session on lane swimming to mix things up. I find it really good for strengthen my shoulders (I have weak shoulders) which in turn helps my training in the gym. I also find the controlled breathing ver benficial for cardivascular fitness, plus I love the spa soak after!

i love it

it serves two purposes for me - cardio and a sort of meditation. i'm mostly a runner, so its great cross training, too

tbh a few full length laps in the pool is pretty damn hard sometimes, especially after riding 30 miles to/from work. i know some folks out there find it as easy as anything, but i find swimming to be hard enough to work just fine as a standalone workout
