Drop Set

Hi guys,

I decided to implement drop set in my training. I just don't know how much weight the drop set after my working set should be and the next drop set as well. If my working set is 100kg, how heavy should be the drop set? and the next one after that? Do you implement the drop set on every exercise you do? can I also use the drop set on muscles like bicep and tricep? thanks guys.

It will depend from person to person how much to use the drop set and by how much. For 100kg, I would drop to around 70-80kg.

If I use it in a workout I prefer to save for near the end just to force more blood into the muscle, occasionally I will use on a heavy compound but normally stick to forced reps on those.

It is a personal thing though and a good idea to experiment and see how things feel for you in your training.

I don't have a training partner that's why I decided to do drop sets. How about the second drop set, what would be your weight?

If you wanted to do another drop from there maybe 50kg.

When you use a drop set on an exercise you will find strength for

your next exercise will be less. So use it sparingly, definitely not for every exercise.

Most of your gains will come from the kitchen and enough rest, not from

using drop sets.

thanks mate, i would probably use it on my big lifts.

It depends how many reps you can do in 100kgs.. for example.. if you do 10 reps on 100 kg, your dropset should be the weight on which you can do another 10 reps. And the one after should be on which you can do another 10..

Try that mate.. Im sure it will give you burn..

Why not drop it and get 6 reps? Seems the same to me really, just heavier...
