Looking for good nutrition/supplement industry journals

I'm doing industry research and also having a geez at what gets published.

Something I read in internetland lead me to 'Nutrition Business Journal' which sounds flash and all.

This was the first article I read:

http://newhope360.com/special-diets/sma ... otein-plan

Second:

http://newhope360.com/functional/new-pr ... ion-market

My first thought was 'Holy flying monkey fark; what a pack of misdirecting bastards'. After noticing a soy supplier sponsored some BS study it all became pretty clear what the deal with that publication is.

Are there journals/publications you guys consider good enough to pay money for? More on the industry side than scientific studies.

To pull numbers out of a monkeys ass, around 95% of people with weight loss goals/hard body visions suffer from such confusion and information overload that they simply choose a credible looking source and run with it. That might be their flatmates mates cousin the PT or their uncle the physio. These 95% then proceed to do what they are told with no understanding of why they should be doing it and then get really shitty when 3 months of mass gainers turns them into a fat piece of shit (or 3 months meal replacements see a big ol' 4lb loss).

Erm I suppose the rant section of this post is at heart an extrapolation of the 'useless PT' rants that pop up from time to time. I'm stuck not understanding how the ill-informed can still be seen as credible as they proceed to prevent paying clients from achieving their goals.

Yeah some trainers and nutritionists are really good. I'm curious about the other ones

If you want real science in proper journals then you'd need to subscribe to a proper journal. A couple are free but the best ones have costly subs

http://www.jssm.org/

http://bjsm.bmj.com/

http://journals.humankinetics.com/rsj

http://ajs.sagepub.com/

http://journals.lww.com/cjsportsmed/pages/default.aspx

http://www.freemedicaljournals.com/fmj/IP_SPORT.HTM

Or you can search pubmed or google scholar for abstracts

Lyle Mcdonald scans the literature every day and posts all bb and sports physiology and nutrition studies on his website which saves you searching yourself. Full text copies are often PMed and emailed around. You need to sign up to view

There are other good resources and writers around. Layne Norton, Alan Aragon and others write good articles. Some good sites like http://www.broscience.com too
