elbow tendon pain unracking low bar squat

As above, has anyone else encountered this.

I don't have much drama during the unrack or set, just tightness in the elbow, but after my working sets it feels a bit weak and fatigued.

This has also been compounded by further pain on close grip bench on arms day (day after legs) and lying skull crushers. Last week I barely got through triceps and had to do my biceps on my usual day off

I'm currently gripping with my index finger on the markers of the lower/upper quartile of the bar (standard Olympic bar). I tense and grip the bar as hard as I can before lift off

fish oil

cissus

neglecting my glucosamine but I get a little in my multi

i sometimes f*ck up my elbow by pressing upwards hard on the bar with my hands during my last couple of reps of a set, if theyre difficult. at one stage it was so bad afterwards i couldnt pull up my cars handbrake.

if i make sure to just put my palms on the bar during the final reps, ie not grip the bar so i cant push upwards through my hands, the elbow is ok

very common

250 band pressdowns per day, roller biceps, triceps and forearms, try some topical meds...should help

other than that you could try flossing - search elbow flossing at mobilityWOD.com

Sweet post^

Also watch what your doing when you unrack the bar, let your back support the weight, don't push against it with your arms, just squeeze tight.

I had the same problem, used to get the maddest sore elbows, until I realized I was literally trying to press the bar off my back, making a conscious effort to stop doing so seemed to coincide with no more pain.
