Interesting. Seems like more and more people are trying this. Personally I'm not sold, but I wonder at what point does it become widespread enough to be more than just a fad?

Oh, and apparently Roman gladiators were vegetarian. Vegan, actually. Their diets basically revolved around barley and beans.

so unhealthy for humans to eat this way

Hunter Gatherer is the best way to eat. eat Fatty meats first then Vege last.

No need for much carbs... Kumara cooked with the fats of the meat is enough

Raw milk , butter - no oils.

BOOM!

I've been vegetarian since '96 and am definitely healthier for it (if that matters). I've had no stress maintaining 100-110kg BW and building muscle on a vegetarian diet but admittedly, I do eat heaps of dairy and supplement with whey.

I reckon I could do the vegan thing easily enough if I lived in the USA, where the choices are so much greater (and the food/supplements are cheaper - a bit of hemp protein and I'd be sorted  )

Being vegan would be tougher in NZ. I'm cutting back on dairy at the moment without going nuts about it but looking at the local prices for dairy free protein powders is almost enough to scare me back to a steak.

Maybe we should just make like Milo of Croton - the famous Greek wrestler from the 6th century BC. He had a rep for being one strong dude and was basically unbeatable! His diet was apparently made up of 20 lb of meat, 20 lb of bread, and 18 pints of wine a day. That will build a beast for sure...or a fat bastard :pfft:

ASP for Men Uses 100% All-Natural Ingredients that have been shown to be Safe & Effective. With all of the different male enhancement supplements and prescriptions available on the market you may be asking yourself, just why is ASP for Men better. You will find that ASP has been manufactured in the U.S. and uses all-natural & safe ingredients. When looking at the safety and effectiveness of ASP one ingredient that you will not find listed is Yohimbe. This is an ingredient that comes from the bark of a tree in Africa. It has been shown to be potentially dangerous if taken

orally. Yohimbe can have side effects that can include the potential risk of a heart attack,

high blood pressure, rapid or irregular heartbeat, kidney and liver problems just to

name a few.

I read some excerpts of Scott Jurek's book in Runners' World - and I guess it comes down to what you want to achieve. There's no doubt he's a great runner, and Bradley may be a better than average boxer - but how would either of them have got on with MY genes ?

Work out what you want to DO - and then pick the most effective diet for that for your own metabolism :) If you do what everyone else does, you'll get the same results they do...

Some interesting facts based on the "evolutionary diet" of humans written by a vegetarian but strongly suggesting we are omnivores. Raw Vegan followers take note.

100% we are, We need Fatty meat, veg and some carbs. Not too much but. BOdy will use Fat for energy if we eat enough of it and dont carb load
