Last beer at New Years...... till I acheive my goal.

Last time I did the same thing it took me 2 years to win the U105 NZSM title, well 23.5 months to be precise, followed by a dozens beers & few other things! :pfft:

My friend did the same - 6 years to win his second Mr NZ title - nek minute he's chopping shooters like they're going out of fashion! I said whats up? His reply was that he only didn't drink cos he had goals to acheive, and until he has new ones he'll have a good time! I promptly adopted that strategy!

every week sometimes twice a week. drinking a fuckload, but im trynna cut back for first time in years so only 2-3 beers once or twice a week... will let you know if my gains are better. i can only presume they will be since i wont be missing 12-18 hours of food and then eating crap for 2 days and missing out on 2-3 workouts a week.

almost never. only in summer pretty much, but when i do drink its normally like less than 5 drinks or 20+. used to drink quite a bit age 16-20. dont really even find it fun any more though.

few months ago i drank a 700ml vodka then skulled a bottle of wine all within 2 hours. didnt spew but wish i had of. felt like shit for 5 days afterwards so not ideal

I dont really drink at all

maybe only 3-4 beers a month if anything

Sticking to my goals is what im doing, but still have the odd drink. getting lastered every weekend is wasting your time.

May as well not go to the gym and just drink

ok to have the odd drink, but excessive amounts all the time aint good

Hardly ever. The odd feijoa wine if I'm catching up with friends, but usually I stick to the coke zero or water..

Once upon a time I was shitfaced at least once a week (not gonna lie, it was awesome). But these days I have too much to do on my weekends, and I suck at hangovers

I've definitely cut back. It used to be most Saturdays, 20+ standards for a big night. Rarely spewed and I'd always be able to eat the next day so never saw it as impacting my training much. By Monday I'd be fine and back to training anyway.

Now it's every 3-4 weeks due to working security most Sat nights, and down to 10-15 standards which doesn't effect me too much the next day. It's nice to be earning/saving some money as well instead of blowing any extra I had on booze every weekend  Got my 21st on Saturday though so the old me might come out :shifty:

I'll still have a few beers/wines if I go out to a BYO restaurant with friends, and occasionally a beer with dinner if there's some floating around. I don't see the point in depriving yourself completely to try and reach a goal. Sure if you're binge drinking regularly and that's throwing out your diet and training then it's an issue, but I doubt a few casual beers has ever truly had a negative impact on a persons gains.
