ON Gold Standard Whey Protein

Taken me a while to find the best whey and casein brands/flavours I'm happy with - there are some horrible caseins out there (cough *innerarmour* cough) - but what's the deal with the same protein tasting different when bought in different amounts?

Bought a 5lb ON 100% Gold Standard Whey Vanilla (imported from bodybuilding.com) - loved it. Bought a 10lb sack last week from a different supplier (dailysupps) and it tastes completely different? It's got that nasty chemical smell to it and more refined in texture.. .

Getting real fed up with these variations. This common? What's the scoop?

i wonder if it may have something to do with flavourings settling towards certain areas?

10lb sack not entirely air sealed?

or maybe big differences in manufacturing dates?

yeap there's a difference in manufacture dates on the packaging. the sack was last year - 5lb tub the year before that. wouldn't have bought the 10lber if i'd known if it was gonna be that rank to digest ffs.. .
